Ghost racer:
Actually I don't have any problem with distance men doing sprinters' exercises. As far as I'm concerned, fundamentals of running, long or short, fast or slow, should still be the same and by practicing those fundamentals, you will benefit either way.
The one I have most problem with, and I actually didn't want to get into it too much yet, is any exercise using the tube. By using elastic tube, the resistance load you will receive is highest when the tube is stretched longest; meaning at the end of that particular movement. For example, if you try to imulate the throwing movement, using the tube as a resistance, then the resistance load at the beginning of the movement is the lowest and it becomes higher and higher as the movement goes on and reaches the highest load at the very end of the movement when in fact the muscles should be relaxed. Where you actually need most power generated (in the case of resistance work, the highest load) should be the beginning of the action, not the end.
