I would love to get an update from the OP? Is he divorced? Happily married? etc? Or was he just trolling?
It would be great to get updates from people from classic old letsrun threads. Similarly, when I read those Dear Abby type newspaper columns, I think it would be interesting to get an update 10 years later.
I agree, I love old threads. Unfortunately, the moderators you employ despise them, and rip through old posts like locusts.
Let me give you my opinion as a married guy whose libido has gone down. We do it 1-2 times per week, usually on the weekends. My wife feels like I don't find her attractive any more because we used to do it more often.
Here is the truth - I'm just used to her. It's not exciting, it's like eating the same dinner every day. Even if it's your favorite meal you would get bored of it after a while. I can look at her and know she's beautiful, but it's like my senses have been dulled to her charms.
I miss the variety of different women. I think if I were still single I would be as horny as ever. But the thing is, I do love my wife. I want to be with her. I've dated other women and she is by far the best. So I would rather have a boring sex life with her than be with someone else.
On balance I am happy. Really my concern is whether she is happy enough.
You should know that it's not going to get better. You'll have to decide just how important sex is to you. Can you put up with little or no sex if the rest of your relationship is good? Would either of you be willing to "open up" the marriage sexually if it was necessary in order for you to stay together?
Big difference between 1-2 times a week and 1-2 times a month with no interest or having to beg for it .
