"No serious drugs were involved, no PEDs (performance Enhancing Drugs) were involved, that's all I will say," the source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said.

After the 'B' sample came back positive, Campbell-Brown will next face a Jamaica Anti-doping Commission's panel, before which she will explain how the substance got into her system.

According to the source, she could receive a three-month ban or even a public reprimand. The source added that she was expected to be back in competition again soon.

Please tell me you're joking? Because you are obviously just plain wrong. This information is out there and easily available. As somebody said earlier, even Armstrong never claimed anything about corticosteroids being related to cancer. The backdated prescription claimed it was for saddle sores. This is a well-established fact, not a theory. That was the claim by his people at the time, and has always been the claim. And even if they had been for cancer treatment, it's obvious that he would have know to declare them beforehand as a TUE (as required). That's not the kind of blatantly obvious thing one would overlook, especially after the biggest PED bust in cycling history at the previous year's TDF.

Also, technically, he tested positive 4 times for corticosteroids in that Tour, not just once. This was only revealed this past year.

And he didn't take "hundred to thousands of tests". Well, I guess technically he did. He took hundreds. Roughly 300, give or take. This has been well-researched. Even the claims from his own people were that he had taken 500 to 600 tests. Even those crooks never claimed "thousands". From the NY Times:

Is this the same federation that banned for life an athlete for taking the very same product, and just banned for six yrs another for a stimulant ?

Where in the article is the source revealed to be from Jamaican federation, for all we know that might be somebody from her "crew" (coach ???).

It will be interesting to see how will their federation handle that case compared the previous one. I'll be able to lose all respect if they don't treat her as harshly as the others...

They are ALL on it, it's a part of top level sport, not just T and F.

It's never going to go away, it's never going to be eradicated and chemists will only develop more and more products which will not show up in tests.

If your smart, you follow your schedule and play the game, you should be okay and pass your tests, just like Marion Jones passed 160 of hers.

If you fail, you do your time, apologise, get some new chemicals and carry on as usual and this time you make sure you don't get caught, like Justin Gatlin.

Infact Justin Gatlin alone tells you how effective these ''tests'' are. He is running as fast as he did when he was doped to the moon.......but now he's clean right? and passing the tests....

Give me a break.

It's not "cheating" and its not a "few bad apples" its a part of what is required to perform to these standards in top level sport.

You're saying that Jürgen Straub was clean? How about Cerpinski? Why would they give drugs to their women middle distance runners but not their men?

And yet some people is saying that Carmelita Jeter is clean hahaha.

VCB was a Youth and Junior World Champion...multiple Olympic and World medalists for 13 years, but still 0.12s slower than Jeter, who -in the other hand- has been running 11mid as collegiate and suddenly is running 10.8 and even faster (10.64). And moreover, Her coach is John Smith.

1. Cierpinski was a marathon runner, not a 1500m runner. There is a difference between distance running and middle distance running. Also, I don't know if he doped or not, but his PB (2:09:55) is a lot slower than the times that are currently achieved. Doesn't mean he was clean (probably not), but it's a big difference to, say, Marita Koch (crazy 47.6 400m) or Kratochvílová, whose times are still world records.

2. Much of their doping was with anabolic steroids, which have a stronger effect on women than on men, and likely more benefit for middle distance runners and sprinters than for distance runners of any sex.
