This is the response I would expect from much of the running community. It's why I don't understand how Rowan would think they could ignore this or get away with it. They're a random D3 school and this association is going to stick with them and speak louder than anything else about the school. Someone mentioned it early but it's almost worse for them that Seth is as dominant as he is because it raises the profile and gets this wider coverage.

I'll admit that before I'd read up on this I saw a post about Seth's D3 5k record of 13:35 and just thought, damn these kids are getting fast and nothing beyond that at the time. I didn't note anything about Seth or Rowan and moved on but all it would have taken was opening the comments and seeing the slew of syringe emojis for me start raising an eyebrow and now the story has circulated so much I'd imagine anyone who knows about Rowan or is interested in collegiate running at all knows and wants to stay far away.

I'm gonna end this over-long post by returning to something I mentioned earlier with a Chris Derrick interview in 2015 about Salazar. He said that basically the best antidoping tool is good culture in the sport. It makes it so the people who are sketchy at all are on the outside and you can see subtle hints by the way other athletes treat them. I always paid attention to how Nick Willis spoke about or treated his competitors and took that as a little cue for suspicion. The opposite happens when there's something like Lance in cycling and after the fact guys like Tyler Hamilton are talking about how it was so dirty that everyone was implicated together and the culture was all about staying silent. I sometimes don't know which side our sport currently falls on but it's nice to know that, on the D3 level at least, the athletes have taken their stand and put Seth and Rowan firmly on the outside.

It likely is. It makes me wonder about their level of intelligence overall. You would have to be an idiot to think that ISU suspended multiple athletes for an unlicensed hit and run incident but didn’t suspend the athlete that was driving. What would be the reasoning for that? Because the athlete driving was clearly a top 7 contributor? If so, that would have landed ISU in a much hotter seat back then, and likely would have resulted in legal recourse from those suspended.

Exactly the type of post you'd expect to see just a few hours after Rowan AD Shawn Tucker sends an email chalking this up to jealous hate that's "to be expected when you win." No accountability. No self awareness. The fish stinks from the head. I think some Rowan athletes are smart enough to see through this. Sadly, I get the sense that others lack critical thinking skills and are easily manipulated.

It's a pretty tough look when the best strategy Seth's defenders have is to try and get the thread deleted.

Then please, for the love of god, share this so called “full picture.” Otherwise, there is far too much evidence otherwise that SC knowingly took a banned substance, and knowingly gave it to his teammates without their knowledge. Either one of those alone should be enough to remove him of any remaining NCAA eligibility. Both of them, in conjunction with his behavior since and his attempt to avoid accountability through the transfer portal, are more than enough reason to bar him from further competition.

They go in circles. Distract/off-topic, fake legal threats, other dismissal excuses (beer, pain pills, car excuse, etc), claim everything is a lie and out of jealousy, etc. Rinse, wash, repeat. It’s only a matter of time till they’re back on one of the other tactics.
