Haha, I saw that tweet! 😆 Dave Smith really hasn’t let that go, huh? The afterparty joke is perfect too. I’m honestly just waiting to see how Centro responds. This is getting spicy.
Remember Edward Cheserkek. He was like 21 in High School and balding- then went in to win multiple titles in NCAA. Cheater. Were any of these High Schoolers or NCAA tested for dopin
The guy who won two national DMV‘s and I believe broke a NCAA record with no Kenyans in any of the legs. He had Moroccans in the 1200 and 800 legs and Ryan Schoppe in the mile. He also placed Isai Rodrigues and Alex Maier in the top 10 the year that he tied Northern Arizona.
of the top three, he’s the one least dependent on the Kenyan pipeline

How many of you have actually met Dave Smith? He’s a wonderful guy and I’ve seen him interact with his athletes and he has a great relationship with them. Most coaches would kill for that kind of relationship, and none of you could pull it off. You also have to keep in mind the number of Americans he’s helped a great American collegiate career is actually pretty good too over the last 20 years or so
For the 1992 NCAA Division I men’s championship, the top 50 was overwhelmingly American, with only a small number of foreign-born athletes, and just 2 Kenyans ahead of Dave Smith in 51st. Fast forward 33 years later. Beyond the 2 Kenyans, there were only a handful of other foreign-born runners (primarily from Ireland and the U.K.) in that top-50 group, in stark contrast to the 38 foreign-born athletes in the 2025 top 50. At 22 in 1992, without a coach’s long‑view, he would likely frame it viscerally: “If I put in the same work now, would I even be top 100?”—and that could feel unfair or disheartening, even if he accepted that everyone was following the rules.
Maybe re-read this out loud to see if it makes any sense at all. Decide when you fast forward. Have another go at this word salad, I think you might have a good point in there somewhere but right now it's gibberish.

You sound like another hired Smith Simp. A lot of people dislike Smith. It’s almost like your post is pure sarcasm.

He has just as much hair now. Hide your racism better.
I've seen white guys balding in highschool too and definitely in some freshmen lmao. Get out more.

Everyone I would like to apologize. My mom saw my posts on this thread and told me she’s going to take my phone away if I don’t say sorry. This all started when I found out Coach Smith and my mom dated in college. My mom saw him on TV and a big smile hopped on her face. My dad asked her what that was all about and she just said I know him. Later they got in a big fight when my dad found out coach smith had to get a restraining order on my mom because she wouldn’t stop following him around and saying he was her soulmate. What makes me really mad is he made my mom cry telling her it was only one night and you weren’t that good. Anyway, I’m sorry coach smith
Centro’s playful jab at Dave Smith definitely stirred the conversation, especially with the “afterparty” joke between Stillwater and Iten. Moments like these show how fun and competitive the running world can be. It almost feels like the energy people share when sending Birthday Wishes for Friends—light-hearted, teasing, and full of good vibes.
Lighthearted racism by the gaudy man-child known as Centro. All in good ugly-American fun. Luckily the Kenyan student-athletes won't be affected by any of this this, you know, given that dark-skinned people not only do not have to be coached but they also don't have human emotions.

Cool story bro, only you are confusing my mom with yourself. You are a pathetic Smith Simp, an obsessed fanatic who is devastated by his unrequited love. Keep at it simp, maybe Dave will finally return your love one day.

Because the mods are jealous of Centro. He has everything going for him. So leaving up a post like that including the username is amusing somehow to them. If this was about someone like the doper Andrews it would have been taken down immediately. Bet my post here will be too while Centro’s stays.
Scholarbook offers packages in three regions: East Africa, West Africa (mainly sprint/power event athletes from Nigeria), and Developed (aka Europe). For East Africa, it offers three tiers of service — pay more and get access to higher quality prospects. The lowest tier costs $6,000 per year and is for developmental athletes.
The highest costs $25,000 and includes athletes who are expected to make significant impact right away in the NCAA.

And turning NCAA cross country into a USAID project is crazy and doomed.
“Every one of them wants to get an education,” Baar says. “Every one of them has a family to feed. Every one of them had their own dreams…Their life changes so dramatically [when they come to the US], not just for themselves, but for their whole family.”
