Ruppert goes down. Very unfortunate, sub8 could have been on for him today

Not enough strength
It's the mark of the man that he's been out on his own going for it the last 2 races., albeit tying up.
He obviously knows something from his training that he thinks he can break the WR.
I hope he keeps trying and gets it.
He was already off WR pace within 2 laps. There is obviously no way he is breaking the 5000m WR this year, come on.
Now we get to see how the Americans do in a world-class Steeple time trial.
Kenneth Rooks nowhere to be seen.

Great run from Lyles. Hope this is another step towards shutting up anyone that (for some reason) thinks he isn't the real deal.
Who doesn't think Noah Lyles is the real deal?!
Haha seriously?
That's a great run from him first up but I have to say at the same time that's a poor run from Tebogo - almost over 2 tenths slower than Eugene.
It's less pervasive on LetsRun since its a distance-oriented platform, but go on Twitter and you'll see what I mean.
There are a lot of people on there that have an irrational hatred of Lyles and consider his Olympic gold a fluke

Side note but Chepchirchir just has a phenomenal build for running. Reminds me a bit of Mu.
How much are comments like this about expressing the poster's personal sexual preferences and nothing to do with running ability?
If it were true, coaches and selectors would pick athletes for training based on what appears to be unusual height amongst women and a particular body type. And all world records would be held by women of such build.
Bakkali makes daring breakaway for WR attempt, quick let's watch some slow mo replays of this 17 mid triple jump from every angle
El Bakkali is the king of getting caught in the last 100m just to break into a dead sprint and save the win
Miura!! Great last lap
First a Frenchman now a Japanese makes a big comeback for 2nd!
I bet Bakkali is in some horrible pain right now
El-Blowup
Nice attempt by Miura, goes by El Bakkali with 100m to go but El Bakkali fights back for the win. Miura Japanese national record, 8:03.43
Huge breakthrough for the Japanese steeplechaser. Dude is a beast
Matt Wilkinson 8:10! Nice little SB for Corrigan too! 8:14.76.
Good PR for Wilkinson (USA), 9th in 8:10.23
Corrigan 8:14.76 SB, Rooks 8:28.23?? Wonder what's wrong (he ran 8:14.25 this year)

Corrigan’s was a SB. He ran 8:13 last year.
