Saw Mo Bati on Friday at TS and he wasn't even running. Could've showed up to give Joel a hard time and instead stood there looking all professional business like, and seemed to be carrying a stopwatch. Is he perhaps looking to enter the field of coaching and forgone his last year of eligibility? Or has the NCAA finally found his birth certificate from 1997?

Not sure, but if he is running this year which appears to be the case, he definitely wouldn’t be racing a 5k now.

Let’s move on and talk about how the Oles might not win a single meet until conference, including their alumni meet! Chunko is too busy posting reels on IG to notice. Wonder if the Edina coach will coach the Ole alumni team to victory?

The Edina coach winning the Ole alumni meet would be funny, but doesn't seem that hard since so many Oles are faster when they leave the hill. Bocovich and Kelly are far better than anyone on the team and it appears Skemp has taken his training to the next level with his new coach. Can a team with Kevbot as their 5 beat the vaunted Oles?

Ole this, Johnnie that, Mac something else. Let's talk about the most undervalued runners in the MIAC. I have full faith that Torte Torstenson and Thomas Avra of the Carls and Royals respectively will be the two highest climbing runners of any scorers from any institution come the conference meet. Both are fighters and have shown incredible grit in tough situations and have had crappy races while demonstrating incredible resilience to bounce back. With Torte's steeple experience this spring, it's no doubt that the instability of cross country will provide many chances for him to pass up runners unsure of themselves on the every changing grass, and at least over the summer, put in so much work to prove it. And hey, there might be jet turbines hidden in those braids. Avra, meanwhile, is an excellent example of coming in as a touted prospect, delivering first year, and then showing potential for so much more. With Bethel currently decimated by injuries and lacking any sort of strong leadership from upperclassmen (other than track-based Lelinga), his presence on that team will surely drag them back to mediocrity and out of bottom feeder territory. Look for the navy and white underneath the flowing fro not far behind his teammate, the ROTY last year Hootie Hage.

He’s not on their roster, so maybe for track only? He did ski for several years. So maybe he has Indoor.

Carleton being ranked so high in the region ahead of St. John’s and Macalester who crushed them last year is suspect. I thought the Ole women’s coach is in charge of the rankings, but maybe Ricks wrote them this year.

Oles tied for 6th in the country? Not sure what the rankers see. If they are top ten at the end of the year I'll sleep on a blowup flamingo in the Cannon River for a full week during Winter Term. The Oles women's coach shouldn't be able to rank the men's team if she is so biased.

A high school runner said the Ole facility record yesterday. Will anyone be close tonight?

Strava shows that all the Oles are sore from Chunko’s new lifting program and they stupidly worked out Wednesday, so I don’t expect anything fast from them.

Maybe Big John & Hootie the Blowfish will try to run fast.
