Is he likely in prison already, while awaiting the outcome of a trial?

According to the media, he's been "arrested," so he's most likely being held at a local jail. The media is also reporting that Fox is denying the charges. Suspects in Japan are routinely denied bail if they refuse to confess to the crime.

I saw that one of Matt's athletes posted that he is still currently being coached by Matt. It's all so mysterious.

Apparently Matt Foxs strava activities have been deleted back to November 27 to when he was in Chicago. Somebody is trying to delete his tracks and cover up something.

I guess he's trying to delete all the traces of evidence where he stated he's addicted to THC and needs it despite pleading not guilty to importing it.

Luckily the Japanese police won't think to check Internet archives. And if they do they won't understand it anyhow since it's in a foreign language.

He will clearly be found innocent and released.

Who is Matt Fox?

I've only heard about him here/never stumbled across any of his content but from reading recent threads, I know that his track (1:48 800) and marathon times (2:18) are faster than Seth James Demoor. I'd bet on SJD beating him in an uphill race though.

Group expectations? You mean like the expectation that you'll obey the law, pay your taxes, pick up your dog's poop, and just generally be considerate of others?

Those are the only expectations I've felt obligated to meet, and they all seem pretty reasonable to expect of people in any society.

Why not just delete the entire strava account instead of removing every activity one by one?

If you do, you must have heard the phrase 「日本で生まれて良かった」(I'm glad I was born in Japan). I've heard it a lot, usually in the context of a discussion about crime, safety, or food.

That's not the kind of thing you'd hear from people who are "depressed, overwhelmed and crushed by the group ethos."
