It seems to me the doubling format is no special sauce. 1) they don’t have any way to show you quickly who won the “slam” with graphics etc
2) each race is half as important because of the format not more important. in the women’s 1500 I did pay a little more attention to see if Hiltz finished 3rd or 4th but that actually didn’t matter.
3) the women’s hurdles just finished. I’m now supposed to care who might be better at 100 than the actual race they all focus on?
if they want to do event groups fine. give $50k for each event wins maybe give a $25k bonus for the overall winner if they want.
Agree Weldon. No need to stress the doubling cumulative effect. These are prideful athletes, by and large they run through the line.
