Something weird happened with Barrett, one of his splits is missing so it’s hard to tell, did he fall or just bomb halfway through? They wouldn’t have beaten Niwot or AF but they’d at least have been on the podium with a normal race from him.
One of Herriman's usual top 2 runners bombed the middle part of the race because he went out too fast. They would have won easily if he went out like 5 seconds slower
The course is too much of a factor. Makes for badass video clips and IG stories but sucks for kids who bust their asses for the dream of performing well.
Jane Hedengren would've placed 87th in the boy's race.
Yes, by timing, but the course was absolutely destroyed when the boys ran. ...Hedengren had first tracks basically the whole way today. Still, her performance was so dominant it can't be dismissed in any way.
Happy for noonan. Sad for turks fall. Weather is unpredictable you just gotta try your best. Cool seeing new names use this opportunity to compete. But man i wish CA individuals would just go for it like last year. I feel like bell and parra ran a wild race i wish more of our CA guys just say #yolo and go for it. Slippery course is a little unfair for everyone tho. Just my opinion
How do you figure that? They lost by 36 points and their #5 scorer scored 36 points. Doesn’t seem like any scenario would’ve led to them winning easily over Niwot today.
Honestly. Woodward Park CA would be great for a national meet. But CA teams would have an unfair advantage. Any other ideas where nationals could be held?

After he pushed up to the front of the chase pack over the 2nd k you could see him slipping back in the 3rd k, probably 20-25th place at the point the video showed him after being 7th at 2k. I thought at first he decided to run more conservative for his team once he realized he couldn't hang at the front today but i'm not sure if he was just rigging or if he fell.
