I mean yeah but this is also a matter of some teams being cut/no cut. Some teams have like 15 people and if they’re half decent their average is gonna be 16:30 but it could be 22 if there were like 80 boys. Good coaching goes both ways, there can be good coaching across the board but some people who don’t try/improve will bring the average down

Crater is definitely a cut program, right? Hard to believe a program that good only gets 27 guys out.

Also should be noted that two additional boys on their team only broke 20 on the track and then one has a random time that's 3-4 minutes faster than anything else he ran. Probably a situation of a kid using the wrong bib. I bet their average time is quite a bit worse if you remove that track 5k.

Crater is in a small metro area (Medford) and mostly rural part of Southern Oregon. Ball sports and country music lifestyle (cruising dirt roads in a pickup truck on a Friday night) are far more popular than running. That stated, what they have built is a miracle and testament to how good their coach is.

Lincoln eeks out a state title on the girls side, 90 points over Lake Oswago's 102.

Jesuit's top girl, Emma Bennet did not finish/race so they only got 5th. What's up with that?

I think the Idaho teams on the girls side are still going to be the ones to beat next weekend.

The times in the WA boys 4A race are lagging, it’s taking a while to record all finishers, but it’s and neck between Lewis&Clark and Issaquah.

Issaquah’s 5th man was pretty far behind their 4th

Recupero and Tostenson were among the best freshmen in the nation if I remember correctly. Keegan Smith from TN was #1 in the class freshman year
