A slight lull today's track action after yesterday's epic 1500. Have no worries as Valbymania is only 48-hours from reaching hard to imagine levels of excellence.
I hate to say it, but I am burned out from these Olympics. So INTENSE that I am exhausted. Funny that after all of this waiting and anticipation, I don't think I'll even watch the women's 10K now.
You’re are obviously from the repressed commie country known as China. We here in America like winning and never get tired of winning that’s why in less than 24 hours we can…
Expect Great Things!!!
Valbymania never gets boring and only makes one appreciate Freedom, Excellence, and Maximizing One’s God-Given Talent!
Goes with the lead pack through a slowish early pace. Hangs in there as things heat up past 4k. Ultimately is dropped but toughs it out for 30:29 and ninth place.

It’s unlikely that the pace will just right for her to shoot for a PR, and certainly not by 20 seconds. If the pace is otherwise going to be slow, does she play the role of an Indy pace car and take it out at 15:15? If the pace is reasonably fast, she’ll need to ignore the faster runner runners and focus on running 73s.

I am hoping she uses this race to get the 2025 standard of 30:20 for Tokyo. Even a tactical race run by the Africans could pull Valby to that time, and that would be a good result for her and a load off to not have to worry about the standard going forward.

Yeah I hear you. And despite what everyone here thinks, getting into a race over your head doesn’t guarantee you’ll be “pulled” to a significant PR. There are runners who only ever PR as front runners. Her ceiling right now may well be 30:50.
