I feel pretty decent about the state of moderating as I heard indirectly from a very prominent runner who gets bashed on here who said we do a good job of cleaning up the attacks that cross a line and also heard from the parent of a very prominent high schooler who said the same thing.
Why does it take so long for reported threads to be deleted? You let some inappropriate stuff linger on the board.
Why is it so difficult for people to just not click on threads that don't interest them?
If people were posting threads in the wrong category with misleading titles you might have a legitimate complaint. No one is doing this.
If the title of the post is "Another shooting in Baltimore" maybe it would a better use of your time to simply assuming it isn't running related and ignore it than to waste your time reporting it.

Profanity in his name. Personal insults in his post. And these are the types that complain about moderation the most. We need to train an AI bot to just weed these posts out.
There were two recent threads that were really bad and left unattended/unlocked for too long.
The first was the Frank Csorba thread which almost instantly turned into a vaccine thread.
The second was the Cranny/Team Boss thread which had one loco poster saying some pretty heinous things.
What can we do to get these things locked/removed, etc. quicker?
The mods generally are going to see individual posts. Sometimes we need to take a step back and if a thread is getting a lot of posts, try and take a look at the thread as a whole instead of just the individual posts.
But on the surface we are fine with people discussing Frank or Cranny.
Nobody was discussing Cranny. The thread became ad hominem attacks on Coburn and Bosshard and McGee.
Wejo asks for examples of threads that go off the rails... I feel like it's rare to find one that doesn't devolve into negativity or bickering or misinformation.

After a while, seeing the same people posting the same material time and again under assumed user names is tiresome, and no new information is ever forthcoming. It is the same people with the same arguments, often crossing lines into misgendering and name calling and it never stops.
Newname is an antisemite. We all know it, so if you allow him to state that Jews control Hollywood- it is never about Jews controlling Hollywood. It is always in yoke to additional antisemitic content. Whether it is Jamin, Kobbs Hessler, NewName or any of the other ones who regularly create havoc on this board, you end up requiring us to do the moderation. There is more antisemitism here than anywhere I else I visit online. It is embarrassing and absolutely nothing you should be proud of. I'm Jewish and I know it when I see it; I've lived it my entire life and to allow even a comment as the one you said you would (about Hollywood) speaks tons to me. Nothing antisemitic should be allowed, period. Nothing bigoted- no more of the snide Baltimore posts, for example- which seem kind of benign on the surface but are designed to provoke bigoted responses. You know this.
It may be because I am older (71) that I take it seriously. You have tons of high-schoolers and college kids here who grew up posting crap under anonymous names and it wastes much of what you can accomplish with this site. For them it is just trolling fun and killing time and provoking responses; for me, it is painful to come here and now to consider bailing from this site again.
