This is why doing automatic qualifiers is stupid. What a boring slow race. There is no incentive for them to run fast. Everyone in that heat that just went with the pack and didn't qualify is an idiot. They could have run 3:35 in their sleep. Just a bunch of betas.

Yeah waskom looked like he had some left but there was basically a wall of 6 people and he couldn’t get through. Position is critical in 3:45-3:50 type races.
