9:29 for the men's DMR. Texas A@M finished a close 2nd with Two former High School runners from the city of Keller. Neither from KHS. Neither a 5 star recruit. Might say something about how good the coaches are at Texas A@M.
Kaylee Mitchell 4;32.9 in heat 2 of 3. Heat 3 is supposed to be the fast heat
2nd in the heat and #3 overall in 4:33.14 was BYU's true freshman Riley Chamberlain.
Her HS PR was 4:47 and that was not at altitude. She is from California.
That's an incredible improvement in just 6 months.
I remember Riley Chamberlain from high school only because of her last name being the same as Wilt. She wasn't even in the conversation of having a chance at a California state title and 6 months later she runs 4:33? Wow!

Great job by the Aggie men - looks like they broke a school record that had been set about a decade ago! Hope it’s enough to get them to the national meet.

When the dust settles tomorrow that will be NCAA top 5.

Chamberlain was leading coming off the curve and started tying up but she powered through it. She was BYU's #5 on their XC team for most of the season but missed nationals for some reason.
W Mile - continued 3. Riley Chamberlain (4:33.14) 🚨No. 4 all-time at BYU 8. Sadie Sargent (4:35.94) - PR 🚨No. 6 all-time at BYU 9. Lexy Halladay-Lowry (4:37.34) - PR
They are running it. I have been predicting Stanford to win it for months and you and others disregarded my prediction.
They could do this. Stanford not (yet) in running for the team title. DMR more fun for kids and produces '4 champions'. Notre Dame did this with Nuguse a couple years ago.
Tanaka just ran 2:06 so there can be someone to be the leadoff leg for a DMR.
Maloney was the rabbit and went way too fast 27.7/56.2
Maloney was 1:28.05 at the 600. That seems less like a rabbit for a college race, and more like Maloney just wanted to see how fast she could run a 600.
Maloney wasn't really rabbiting anyone. She was doing her own thing all by herself.
