I don't think they have any idea if it is a reliable source....Jonathan was supposed to talk to Laurie Henes though
I just listened to that portion of the podcast. It was a totally anonymous email, and the alleged "source" offered no explanation of their source for the information (no claim of connection to the program, etc). The email claimed that Tuohy "tweaked it at practice", and that Coach Henes was now not having her do faster-paced workouts, but that she was "fine for races" and doing slower-paced runs at practice.
So, if this claim is true...then allegedly Katelyn was injured in practice prior to regionals. And obviously she still ran at regionals and won. So must be an extremely minor injury to still run her at regionals.
No mile repeats and no speedwork is not great heading into finals. But you are right, 'anonymous source' may not be legit.
At this point, there is not much speedwork being done anyway. Again, if it was anything at all then nothing more than a tweak. Otherwise they would have done a very different cool-down after regionals. She would not have been walking around in shorts after without some type of warm-up clothes over. Stretches or massage....heat etc

Exactly, like I said in my original post: “The women have achieved all of the fitness they can at this point and are tapering and resting to be as fast as they can be this upcoming Saturday.”
Ben and Garrett are back on the mics with a mega episode. This week, the guys go through last week's regional results on both the men's and women's sides before jumping into title favorites, teams who could surprise, and more...
The Stride Report’s latest podcast is out where Ben and Garett discuss thoughts about Regionals and the upcoming championships.
On the women’s side, they mention they feel Chelangat would realistically be on the only one to expect to defeat Valby and Tuohy, essentially based on her winning it all previously, and on this same course. While I agree Chelangat is a phenomenal athlete, and I have her ranked high, I don’t think she’s had the kind of season that lends itself to seeing a possibly victory. Besides, she’s lost to both of them this season.
What really surprised me is I don’t remember them mentioning McCabe having a shot. They mentioned Roe and Cook as dark horses, but I don’t recall them discussing McCabe. Interesting…
Joe Franklin’s staff really does a fantastic job for their program. Not only are they an exceptionally good team, they’re not afraid to put the team in the media. Their program has not been shy of camera time, or in this article, of showing their school and the world the “Who’s Who” of their athletes! Very refreshing, informative and a good example of other programs to emulate.

Nothing new, McCabe is routinely overlooked and underestimated by the more tedious podsters and board posters.
Does the rojo-esque “Hilda Chebet” misname suggest the power of a haircut? [Beatrice Chebet and Hilda Olemomoi]

It is interesting, because it seems that most who really follow the sport understand the power of McCabe if she’s close. She’s already handily defeated 3 of the top women in the country. All she has yet to face in the top group is Valby, Tuohy, Chmiel and Chelangat. It just makes sense that at her worst ranking she’s 5th.

They have her ranked 3rd, the difference here is (somehow) they don't see her beating Valby or Tuohy, but yet feel Chelangat might (who they have ranked 4th).
We will see how all of you do in the prediction contest.
we will, my 2 suggestions are that 1) they get the runners in the proper sex groups (unless some identify as a different sex than we think) and 2) they allow for changes without having to reenter all the picks

Wood report has Lexy Halladay in their 2x once w her married name once without?? And lists Taylor Chiotto for Washington who isn’t even on the team anymore? They also list Zarbo from Oregon who hasn’t run once this season - not the greatest list from a first glance
