CJ is Ryan-Hall-esque for this first hour of racing.
Why work hard 10 feet out front instead of working with the back/drafting with the pack? Seems like the better move, but I'm not CJ
Des Linden will be first American home.
Honestly, he would probably be really good in the half marathon.
Yeah, hoping the hills will slow some runners and she can fight her way back in. It won't be the lead pack, but maybe she can squeak into the top 7?
please tell me that wasn't 15.49 between 10 and 15k for the women?
Or a 50 miler, or maybe a road 100k.

He's been questioned about it ad nauseam. He prefers to run his race. He's a better downhill runner (I believe he's mentioned that he may be the best downhill runner in the world), so he really attacks the downhill sections.

Hard to tell. Leaders are on a 2:21 pace. Top American is probably something more like 2:25. Could be Molly or Nell too.
Women are about 40 seconds under BAA record at 15Km
roughly 1:03:30 at the half

It was.
Is Dion Marquise Hayes in the lead pack where he should be?
Is Rupp in this race? I thought I saw him when I first tuned in, but he hasn't been mentioned.
This is funny, since usually it's the women who aren't shown. My how the tables have turned. ;-)
Can't help but root for CJ, he will probably fade again, but he is fun to watch. Without Rupp in the race, it's nice to see someone not afraid to run in the lead pack.
three american men leading past halfway?!
Who would have guessed that?
Crazy the carnage in the women's race already. What is Jepkosgei's play here? Why not draft a little? Is there a tailwind now?
"Keep running!" yelled at Manuela Schar
