Why work hard 10 feet out front instead of working with the back/drafting with the pack? Seems like the better move, but I'm not CJ
He's been questioned about it ad nauseam. He prefers to run his race. He's a better downhill runner (I believe he's mentioned that he may be the best downhill runner in the world), so he really attacks the downhill sections.
Can't help but root for CJ, he will probably fade again, but he is fun to watch. Without Rupp in the race, it's nice to see someone not afraid to run in the lead pack.
