There he found a book with a cool title called Death by China. He didn't read it. But he liked the title so he called the author who was Peter Navarro. He is the one with all the strange tariff ideas that eventually went to prison for Trump. What is his authority? Well, repeatedly in his books he cites an economic expert named Ron Vera to bolster his tariff claims and economic theories. This Ron Vera even emailed the White house repeatedly trying to convince Trump to adopt these tariff ideas. Well. Ron Vera doesn't exist. It is a made up person. Navarro cites a fictional person as his economic authority. In fact Ron Vera is just an anagram of Navarro's own name. A switcharoo on the lettering. Peter Navarros theories are pulled out of his posterior orifice.

Trump could get the State Department or some Embassies to re-negotiate different deals, if he really thinks America needs to breach some of his existing ones and get better ones.
