Henry won't be there. I'll actually believe that he is going to race and compete at a 'serious' level, when I see it with my own eyes.

When is your next race, Henry?
Henry would have 2 months to be ready for this Kip Keino Masters mile race. He has been running around 100 mpw now for months, so if he starts interval training soon, he should be sharp and ready for that race.

The 280 days of training phase II.28mwp+95mhc+15mcd=138minutes.I'm still head of the youngsters for the first 28mwp for sure, they have to follow me,if they need good leadership for good success.I'm very old,but I can lead the young runners.

Henry: have you ever considered running for public office?
Keep it up henry! Let the speed come.

Henry, I just spoke to Mike Long, who is in charge of the Carlsbad Masters 5K. He said that he received your email.

You read my book first in six weeks from now, if it has good flavor then put me in the public office, but it has to do with athletics, it has to be close to my running profession of feet, the one I know what I'm talking about right!
I dont want to be in a public office and lead people astray right! The athletics is the rigt song I normally sing right.Right!

You may have to convince him that you are really in good racing shape and will perform well.

The speed is coming. The 4:40 minutes is the right target to be hit very soon without a mistake.I see those seconds coming down, but I have not feel it yet.I will feel it the day when the record is under-my-belt.

I will take a cat nap first ,when I wake up,I will know the minute my mind is strong.I had too many hills in my breathing nerves today at 6am.It was too dark to see your foot steps and the birds were the only breathing fresh air before the face of the sun.
I told the youngsters let us take advantage of this fresh air.It is free fresh air,it will cost you to sweat and that was the prize they had to pay this morning in exchange of getting good breathing lungs. How is that sound to you?
Henry
ok, I like your spirit and you obviously have the potential to be a great Masters, 55-60 age group runner; but in order to run a 4:40 mile at some point this summer, you will have to run a 5:15 first, then a 5:10, then a 4:55, then a 4:48, etc....you need to start training faster and start doing some races or time trials throughout March and early April. (This assumes that you lost all that weight- even the great Rono cannot 'fly' at 165 lbs). Can you run an 800m time trial in 2:25 now? Good luck, I'm rooting for you!

That sounds great, Henry. HOWEVER, how are you going to convince Mike Long that you will be in excellent racing shape in time for the Carlsbad 5K?
it possiiiible that mike just happens to care about having running greats at he and tim's races....oh wait, of course he does. me thinks henry won't have to justify a cheap southwest ticket with anything more than his name and a few appearences at the expo and perhaps to help with the awards ceremony.
just some crazy thoughts from a recipient of mike's generosity in the past....
