RE: Cheating at Marathons

Chris Kostman must act with these accounts - he's damaging the whole thing. The ultra world is a small community and its fully aware of all of this (the walking MMs are probably clueless). This takes away from every finisher and DNFer.

Why did you run slower than her down Cerro Gordo?

Curious that these people who make these sudden accusations immediately say that they are no longer going to continue the discussion.

Do not let Steve drag you into analyzing your race times and splits. There's no need for that anymore on this thread. PM is a chronic cheater and has been majorly exposed. Do not respond anymore as you will just get sucked in and have Steve attempt to tarnish your reputation.

I'm not afraid to defend my accusations at all. I know what I saw. You won't find a single person at Badwater (runner or crew) who will say that I cheated. Because I actually have morals. I ran 36 hours, 45 minutes, 49 seconds legitimately.

So this comes down to whether or not you think I'm telling the truth about PM's race. I have ZERO to gain. My finishing place and time are unaffected no matter what happens. I don't know PM personally and thus neither like her nor dislike her.

As for her time on Cerro Gordo downhill, I didn't see her do it, so I don't know about her time. I took an extended bathroom break and gear changing session with my pacer at the top after checking in, so the clock would be starting on my descent. I also walked most of the descent.

If you are trying to imply that you think PM can actually have beaten me up Mount Whitney because of her Cerro Gordo split, my challenge still stands. Care to put money behind it? I've got a blank check waiting. No? I didn't think so.

And since I came out and identified myself, why don't you do the same? I have a feeling you won't. It's easy to troll people anonymously on a message board.

Nice way to silence discussion and make this thread look a bunch of bullshit.

Someone criticizes the fact that PM goes too fast during certain splits and this indicates she is cheating.

But when she goes faster in other splits we can't talk about that?

She has been seen by at least three if not four Badwater runners cheating during the 2014 race. That is all that needs to be said on this thread.

Numerous runners in numerous locations reporting p.m. cheating the course. Those are the facts. Nothing else matters

Let's be clear. I went SLOWLY down from Cerro Gordo and she ran within 5 minutes of me. I think that might be legitimate--I can neither prove nor disprove it. Nowhere in my comments did I say PM cheated the entire damn race. I saw her moving more than once, so I know that she definitely participated.

What is in question is in a last 45 mile stretch where I didn't have a major blowup like on Cerro Gordo and passed other runners who all finished in the 37-40 hour range, she somehow ran 1 hr, 17 minutes behind me AND then beat me up Mount Whitney from Lone Pine. For context, just the last 4 miles of Whitney, my time is better than a number of people in the top 15, so I wasn't exactly dogging it.

But, you're right her time is TOTALLY legitimate.

Look, I don't care what may or may not have happened in other races. I didn't run in them. Each person has to answer to their own conscience for their deeds.

My comments were about Badwater. I know what I saw. It happens to be exactly what Darren, Thomas, and others saw in other places in the exact same race. Even if someone in this thread (I won't name names) wants to challenge my credibility and the credibility of others who have come forward--as if this is one big conspiracy, even though none of us knew each other before the race and have nothing to gain but trolling it seems--the raw numbers don't look good. But, it's for others to make up their minds.

To anyone on this board, regardless of your opinions, I wish you good luck in your future races.

You're right in a way because back in the day times would be recorded and hard copies made which made them legit. Today we have something called the internet to research, discuss and out these people.

These sham times, a small sample of PM's achievements, are TOTALLY ligit because they're on Athlinks, or this is how PM and her accomplices thought they would be perceived, a simple bit of double checking on the net has proved otherwise:
