You might want to go back and look at the results more closely before making another incorrect judgement.

I am afraid you won't get much traction off the End of the World Marathon series lead. I know Steve Boone, one time President of the 50 States Club. He would not allow cheating at his events, even if he omitted entering PM's finish times. Also, as I understand it, due to her known reputation for nefarious activities she may have even been removed from the roles of 50 States Club members.....

Using the excuse of "bigger fish to fry" regarding BW having to move out of the Park isn't an excuse to let the cheating allegations of 2014 slide. The allegations concern PM cheating on the "new route" anyhow from this past summer.

Bravo to the individual that wrote Kostman to inquire about this issue (not the first writing he's received on this either). But everyone is right - go after the Guiness records which seem flawed & her sponsorship. This has gone on long enough, she's had plenty of chances to come clean. For those that put an incredible effort into this very arduous sport year after year, we'll be our own gatekeepers when "leaders" of the sport fail to do so.

I'm not saying it's a valid excuse, I'm just saying it's why Kostman is probably not giving this much attention. That changes if the PM issue gets picked up by a media outlet. I took a shot with the guy who wrote the Kip Litton article for The New Yorker. He was nice enough to answer my e-mail but said one story on marathon cheating was enough for him.

I think the funniest part is that the Guiness record she holds is for most marathons RUN in a year. They must use a loose definition of the word 'run'.

Afraid we can't repeat the KL magic. PM short-cut courses and... that's about it. Not all that interesting as a story. I find this thread kinda amusing, but I'd take a new KL tidbit over this entire thread any day.
