"Boots on the Ground" - he is near my town on Friday, if his supposed schedule works out from his website. I am about 150 miles from Lands End, so hopefully it will be before or after work and I can take a look

Highly suspicious behavior.

If you boast you are going to be world champion, you must expect questions on how the run will be logged.

Many ultra runners who have covered this journey doubted he could make this record, as he has zero history as an ultra runner and just a few shady marathon finishes with missing timing mats.

Think about it. Best marathon 5.04, and no ultras, yet reckoned he could cover 93 miles a day for 9 days!

No one is criticizing him for "doing something." People are criticizing him for lying about his race results to gain sponsorship for a "world record attempt" that he knows he is completely incapable of. I cycle, and I'm a decent cyclist. Would it be ethical for me to completely fabricate a bunch of cycling times and results, tell the world I am going to break the ride across America record and then ask for sponsors to contribute money? Of course not, because I am forging my resume in an effort to dupe everyone about my odds of success.
