- WCAP: Like I said ... soldiers w/2nd jobs and coaches. Here Specialist Korrir admits that Scott Simmons is his real coach versus Oregon National Guard funded Major Dan Browne.

- What's Coach Simmons' cut?
- Look forward to the interview with Specialist Chelimo ...
More "Just in Time WCAP Citizenship":
* Paul Katem UNC-Greensboro (2013)
* Augustus Maiyo Univ of Alabama (2012)
If I had the patience I bet I could link Hillary Bor "Just in Time WCAP Citizenship" to the Pan AM Games, but I'm losing interest in Trend Analysis.

They volunteered for service. You did not. They are more a soldier than you are.
Be it National Guard, Active or otherwise...the Army decides what's best for the Army. Not some coach, not some staff officer. The Army has decided it is in its best interest to let these guys compete on the world stage. Believe me, they are not needed in the motorpool.
I'm sure there are other Army programs that would ruffle your feathers.....MWR, BOSS, all those best of/warrior competitions. I've been flown half way across the country to compete in "best of/warrior competitions" at no cost to me personally.
Alan
- Volunteered ... really?, how about "Timed their Enlistment" ICW citizenship and international competition?
- Service: no evidence of serving in the Army Operating Forces other than Kibet ... no doubt, he was not a Major Browne recruit. WCAP is nowhere near as inclusive to regular soldiers at typical warrior competitions. These soldiers are recruited specifically for the team & there is no expectation of service outside the WCAP.
- Face-the-Music: the WCAP, based on Major Browne's misguided leadership, is exclusively recruiting top NCAA East African talent to compete against US athletes either in established programs or unattached. These soldiers don't "happen-to-be" great athletes that are serving ... they are deliberately targeted based upon their performance in college & enticed given the economic conditions of their country --- in this case: Kenya. Katuma, Kibet, Maiyo, Rono, Korir, Kipchirchir, Chelimo, Bor, Cheseret ... who's next at Fort Jackson ... let me guess: Edward Cheserek out of Oregon? Have college degree, All-American pedigree, w/only an option to return to Kenya --- Welcome to the WCAP! Note, I did not say the US Army because these guys know that all they have to do is muscle through Basic and their follow-on training and its a 2nd Full-Ride, but this time on federal taxpayer expense.
- It's amazing to me that LetsRun folks haven't scrutinized "The Rise of the WCAP"! This is unsettling ...
- Only 1 x WCAP Kenyan that graduated from an NCAA Division I school is an officer .... hard-charging Lt. Cheseret, wonder why he's not competing -- probably deployed ... something Major Browne's made a career of dodging.
- WCAP hijacked the 10K & we'll see what Chelimo, Kipchirchir & Bor do in the 5K and steeple respectively ....
Proud to be an American ... Happy 4th!
This Govt, Fraud, Waste, Abuse case only gets better ..... targeting Major Browne. After doing his full-ride at West Point & then dodging deployments throughout his career to "double-dip" on his NOP career, homestead with the Oregon Guard ... then Maj Browne, the ultimate "Opportunist" declares in as early as 2011 that
QUOTE
At age 36, Browne is on a mission to make his second U.S. Olympic Team in the marathon or 10,000 meters. After completing his quest to run in the 2012 London Games, Browne plans to coach distance runners in the Army’s World Class Athlete Program.

Again, since 2012: Maiyo, Katem, Korrir, Kipchirchir, Chelimo, Bor
This guy's dirty & works against what NOP intended ... not tracking the Al Sal love for Major Browne unless it's false allegiance that he's actually serving the country.
- When did United States Army Major's begin to call their shots on their next billet and duty station?
- Who's enabling Major Browne's career in the Oregon National Guard?
- Has Major Browne ever coached anyone other than a immigrated Kenyan's that he's recruited in the wake of sage tutelage by NCAA Division I coaches?
WCAP has published minimum standards to be accepted into program.
They currently are:
1500m – 3:39.00
5000m – 13:33.00
10,000m – 28:15:00
3,000m SC – 8:32.00
Marathon 2:15:00
If an applicants personal bests are:
Event Result Venue Date
1500m 3:49.43 Winston Salem (USA) 15.03.2013
Mile 4:11.06 High Point (USA) 23.03.2013
Mile ind. 4:11.90 Winston Salem (USA) 19.01.2013
3000m 8:18.38 Winston Salem (USA) 17.03.2012
3000m ind. 8:10.75 Winston Salem (USA) 23.02.2013
5000m 13:57.00 Palo Alto (USA) 28.04.2013
5000m ind. 14:13.77 Winston Salem (USA) 24.02.2013
10,000m 29:10.65 Des Moines (USA) 06.06.2012
10 Miles Road 49:55 Washington (USA) 12.10.2014
Half Marathon 1:04:49 Las Vegas (USA) 14.11.2015
Marathon 2:26:15
Why would they be accepted into program with less than qualifying marks?
Might discourage a athlete without inside connections from applying since they may be slightly off the "HARD MUST OR MEET" standards of acceptance. This may explain why the team has its current composition.
What am I missing ? Are there results that I cannot find?
- Thanks for you comments
- This is what your missing ... US Army WCAPloitation
- Major Browne ... most likely his soldiers call him Coach at best, but probably Dan ... never "Sir" ... he takes these standards you've published & goes after Kenyans in NCAA programs that have either met the standards that you've published or are what I call "knocking-on-their-door." He recruits based on cold-hard realities:
#1 The Army WCAP can fast-track your US citizenship in time for Intl Event X.
#2 The Army WCAP can ensure you're training in a prime location (Fort Carson, Altitude, w/access to USOC facilities) w/o being burdened by other military duties ... not too mention being paid at least an E-4 salary. I don't see any evidence of Major Browne's recruiting schema encouraging these college graduates to renounce their Kenya citizenship and seek a commission given their undergraduate degrees and what they have to offer. Good on Cheseret for working his way from Specalist to Lt in the Armor Corps.
#3 Performance Recognition: NCAA Division I Kenyan's cannot compete with those training in the Rift Valley. Thus Major Browne target's Kenyans that are unlikely th make the team unless their Henry Rono, Sulieman Nyambui (Tanz), Samson Kimbobwa, etc. Furthermore, it's highly unlikely they get professionally sponsored in Kenya given the competition. So guess what they do .... they go into the Police or Army that subsidize their training -- only now, they have duties not a US taxpayer funded "training time-out."
#4 Kenya: what's economically available for them ... you got it, dual-citizenship!! Major Browne has no problem highlighting this fact.
#5 US Army WCAP backside: the GI Bill ... you'll see these guys getting after their Phd on USA dime.
#6 NCAA Division I Coaches have developed them to date .... EZ day for Coach Browne to keep them going & get credit for some kind being some kind of BS amazing coach on the US taxpayer's dime.
WCAP disgusts me .... way more egregious than the Women's 800 meter final ...
Hillary Bor is not in WCAP. He is active duty working full time and has been working for the last 3 years. WCAP only target specific soldiers. Bor could have been deployed not but is brother is deployed

---------------------
- Is that why he credits training w/Shadrack & Leonard at Fort Carson which contributed to his 1st steeple PR since graduating from Iowa State in the video reflected below?
http://www.flotrack.org/video/946062-hillary-bor-after-breakthrough-steeple-pb-at-stanford-invite- I'll give you props on Specialist Bor .... Major Browne didn't conduct WCPAploitation on him ... he came in while Browne was double-dipping with NOP in 2011.
- Props if he's deployed since enlisting in 2011
- NEXT?
He only happen to be station in Fort Carson. Actually his older brother is in Afghanistan right now. And he trains with Scott Simmons only part time.
And give him some respect on independents day. He is a Sergeant not a spc.
- Accepting Risk: I'll believe you
- Sgt Bor should immediately receive LRC recognition for a "Blue Collar" running by making the Steeplechase finals. I'll even pull for Sgt Bor this week!! No doubt, real soldiers balancing miltary duties and this level of training is no BS versus a Major Browne led WCAP.
- Good on Coach Simmons .... sounds like he's going "pro bono" on coaching Sgt Bor there in Colorado versus Major Browne who somehow gets away w/influencing the WCAP team to come to him at taxpayer expense their in Beaverton or Mammoth Lakes.
- How does Sgt Bor feel about the fact that he and his brother have deployed to Afghanistan, but Major Browne coached soldiers like Kipchirchir, Korrir, & Chelimo enlisted with Zero intention or expectations of such arduous duty?
- What else can you tell me about how Major Browne's WCAP program's hijacked the 2016 USOC Olympic Trials in at least 1 x event so far?
- Go Sgt Bor ... Army Strong! Finally, a legitimate soldier! Happy 4th!
- Really wish we could get Coach Simmons from the American Distance Project to chime in & validate my accusations.
- Looks like he was coaching a majority of the WCAP athletes stationed there in Fort Carson before Major Browne got involvled. Coach Simmons involvement makes sense --- close to the post, SME, etc. He likely coached not poached from top NCAA athletes to change citizenship and join army under false pretenses.

Somehow I think if they were white Europeans instead of Kenyans there would be zero complaining.
Not true. I'm sure the people on my side would agree that what we want is people that we can relate to. I don't care if the quality of our field is lower as a result.
- Not biting on the "white guilt" approach as well
- WCAP poaches NCAA's top athletes by representing & demonstrating themselves as a Track Club 1st versus military organization. Furthermore, they leverage the US Army for 1st-in-the-line immigration priveileges & manipulate the assignment system where indeed these guys ONLY run after nominal initial training.
- Imagine a climate where you volunteer to serve for the US military where your "threatened" with assignment to the Operating Forces versus living/training in Beaverton & Mammoth if you don't hit your WCAP marks. You call these guys patriots? This also takes the soldier off the 2nd salary he's expecting giving the shoe contracts, endorsements, etc. Now he & most likely his family are really living like a E-4.
- Major Browne's turned WCAP into "Guns for Hire" versus the program's original intentions .... guys like Kibet that are soldiers and just happen to turn themselves into 2:11 marathoners.
"Fresh" questions for my formal inquiry submission:
What relationship did Major Browne and the WCAP maintain with its current soldiers prior to enlistment? Were they part of the recruitment process?
What relationship does Major Browne and the WCAP have with their soldier’s private sector sponsors? Financial? Training? Meet/Race Scheduling?
Have Specialist Chelimo, Chipchirchir, or Korrir ever been assigned to US Army operating forces following their completion of their Advanced Individual Training?
Given that the below listed soldiers failed to qualify for a Olympic spot or participate in the Trials, what units are they assigned to now?
Specialist Augusta Maiyo
Specialist Paul Katam
Sgt Elkanah Kibet
Specialist Aron Rono
Lt Robert Cheseret
Following the Olympics, when does the WCAP anticipate Specialist Kipchirchir and Korrir’s reassignment to the operating forces? Major Browne's? Will they?
What qualifies a US Army or National Guard officer to coach in the WCAP? Why isn't this billet filled by a MWR professional that know doubt collects a salary from a non-appropriated fund versus the federal taxpayer? How long have officer's been assigned to these duties?
At the end of the day, it all boils down to the fact that Americans want to see whites in the distance races, because tradition. But, this mindset tends to shift.
If you look at the history of most professional sports, there was a turning point where blacks were allowed to participate, and they exhibited superior athletic achievements. As a result, people allowed the entertainment value of the sport to trump their racism - if their team was winning, they no longer cared.
The same thing will happen in distance events. It may take a decade or two, but if America starts winning Olympic medals with naturalized Kenyans, then people will quickly change their tune and stop caring about the fact that the American runners are not white.
Lickety. Your visceral reaction to something that doesn't in any way personally affect you is shocking. It is clear that both your running career and military career didn't work out the way you had hoped and now complain. Very typical of the 20 year staff sergeant who complains he wasn't promoted to SFC because everyone is out to get him. Time for you to move on.
