You Can Run But You Can't Hide Malmo - More And More People Know The Truth About You

This thread is turning out to be just another episode from "Seinfeld-A show about nothing".

I want to understand what Duck really knows about Nike, U Oregon T&F and NOP + whether he has meaningful knowledge about some of the Athletics West stuff from the early 80s.

We all know who Malmo is, so when Malmo makes assertions we have some context in which to judge them. I'm frustrated not to have that context with Duck.

If Duck was really an 800m/1500m guy at Oregon in the late 70s who was good for 1:16 for 600m and 4 low for the mile and who has subsequently spent a lot of his life working in TV sports production, there pretty much have to be people out there who know who he is and know what his actual knowledge base is.

Please notice that ever since this thread has been turned in to trying to uncover the true identity of A Duck he/she has not posted once (or at least not under his/her normal name).

Ah, the secret of A Duck's identity is known but to a select few. Bonus points if you get all the Star Wars references.

Not a long time ago in our own galaxy, Alberto Salazar paced around the Nike campus. His problem? How to bring balance back to distance running and have US runners that could compete with the East Africans. Finally, the answer hit him. He had two babies created with genes for distance running. One was Galen Rupp. The other was A Duck. Unfortunately, A Duck had some developmental issues. When the babies were born from the test tubes, Salazar knew what had happened and that A Duck would never fulfill his destiny. He placed Galen with a normal family and would just happen to stumble upon him once he had reached adolescence and began to play soccer. After Galen left, Salazar cackled, saying, "Soon, in several years time, the world will know this fully armed and operation American distance runner!" Salazar took it upon himself to raise A Duck, knowing that though he desperately wanted with all his heart to be a decent runner, it wasn't going to happen. So he told A Duck when he was a small child, "A Duck, you will be the Sword of NOP. From behind a computer screen, you shall give anyone who dares to speak against us hell and bring the wrath of Nike down on their heads. Though you will never know peace, you will bring peace to all of us here at NOP by fending off the haters. Especially at LetsRun. You will be an eternal troll." Several years later, Galen became Galen, and A Duck sat behind his computer screen, eager to prove his worth as the Sword of NOP. The rest is history. The end.

Needless to say, the above is complete fiction deriving from my amusement at this thread and the polarizing attitudes NOP generates. Apologies for any grammar or spelling errors -- I'm typing quickly here.

So there we have the good side of Duck - sensible post on a real subject. If he would stick to that kind of posting, I'd still have some idle curiosity about his identity, but I wouldn't bother posting about it.

Looks like Gary Lacey was a triple jumper for UO during the late 70s.

Malmo knows lots about the Athletics West days. He has told a little, and dropped more hints. I'd guess he's PNG at Nike, but perhaps has nth-hand knowledge of NOP. But as far as I've read, he has never written anything about NOP that might be construed as attacking it.

NO. 100 percent NO. Ken Martin is the polar opposite to A Duck in almost every way. He respects me and I respect him immensely. With recurring bouts with cancer, he really does have a lot more on his plate. Even if he didn't have cancer to deal with he would never act out with psychopathic episodes in the manner A Duck has been doing for the last two years.

Honest question here– how exactly did A Duck "out" malmo? His identity is no secret. I can google "malmo runner" and the second result will tell me who he is. And correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought A Duck had nothing to do with malmo's original admissions ca. 2005 or earlier? It's obvious that A A Duck is A Díck, but what has he really exposed that wasn't already easy to discover?

Trying to figure out who the Duck is seems relatively pointless, though I understand why it might appeal to some.

Dragging the names of folks who have absolutely nothing to do with the Duck through the mud is much worse. In my opinion, it is unacceptable.
