anyone besides me look at the times from that link and realize the splits match up for a 3 mile course and not a 5k? is this just a mistake by Lynch, (who is given credit at the top of the page for giving the results), or was that plattsburgh course really a 3 mile and not a 5k?

Yeah, that--plus, as I understand it, quite a number of teams' policies forbid any posting on discussion boards, at least during the season, and a lot of team leaders are serious about enforcing the rule.
Makes sense to me.
1) Why provide "bulletin-board" material to psych up another team?
2) Posting here can take up WAY too much of a student's time that should go toward studying, sleeping, etc. Experience speaks. (In fact, I have some academic stuff of my own to take care of and will now be away from the board for several weeks. Seeya. Good luck to all NY teams!)

Does make a lot of sense. I know my team had a similar rule and I imagine brockport does as well. It looks like rowdy ryan has realized this, his latter post has disappeared from the board.

Interesting run for Plattsburgh.
They are a team that notoriously peeks during championship season and starts off slow. While they didnt face Cortland's A team, a couple of those guys that ran will definitely be on Cortland's best. Impressive results by Plattsburgh and they will be an interesting team to watch this year on whether they can keep this up and improve lik they usually do.
Or will they flame out like Geneseo seems to always do recently on the men's side.
Also, kudos to Heymann for sticking with Kosgei for so long. Very impressive run by the Tully grad.

I heard that Medeiros is 23 and is working the early morning shift at the UPS in Saranac Lake.
NYU looked better today 1-5 were 16:02-16:27 at Van Cortlandt
Ithaca's 1-5 were 26:18-27:16 (winning the meet)
RIT's 1-5 were 26:49-27:40
If you look closely it seems Ithaca also held the normal 5,6 guys at that meet. Probably a pretty controlled run judging from the comp
yeah true I see that...looking at the Oneonta meet it looks like the Plattsburgh men held out one of their top 5 too...and still won...I have to admit I realy didn't see that coming
I was impressed with Calvin this weekend. Were they holding anybody back? I'm sure they have, but Cortland needs to take notice of that race and realize they can't waltz to the title. Cortland is still the favorite but Calvin proved they are off to a good start with six guys under 26:00 (four of them south of 25:30) in their first major race of the season. The write up on D3running.com also mentioned very hot conditions at race time.
Furthermore, I have a lot of confidence in Shamus Nally but I'm not so sure Jed Christiansen isn't the best runner between those two teams. Nally has been better recently but Christiansen beat him at Nationals when they were both Sophomores. The Calvin top three is also comprised of seniors, a big bonus in my opinion.
I still predict Cortland FWT but it will be close. <15 points.

The Grim Job was held out for precautionary reasons. PSU is interesting - they have raced 5k, 5k, and 6k. I am excited to see what they do over 8k at SLU.
