This. Hard not to look back fondly at Vent and his elaborate (and largely arbitrary) calculations justifying why Jim Ryun would be literally the greatest at any distance ever given the right circumstances and set of variables. RIP to a legend.
Too many. So many ridiculous and perturbed and hilarious comments/threads unrelated to running. Also some epic running comments back 15 years ago when I was obsessed with training theory.
I miss Harambe. The guy would go mental at the mention of Novak Djokovic. It was so fun to get him worked up about him time after time after time after time after time. The guy just couldn’t let it go.
I assume he had some coronary event or stroked out after Joker made the Aussie final.
Besides Flagpole, he was the easiest to troll.
He is a hasbarat, so he had a lot of reasons for trying to get everyone else to get vaxxed. 😎
Which former letsrun users do you miss? Time to shout out your favorite users who are no longer with us on the site. Let us know why they were insightful to you.
1) sprintgeezer- super grumpy and combative at every opportunity, but extremely insightful on the sprinting aspect of the sport
2) subway surfers addiction- also an extremely surly individual, but really enjoyed some of his posts, especially the ones related to uap's
3) calculo- one of my favorite posters. crazy ideas regarding times, always instigated lively debate
4) lurker#3- great insight knowledge on the sport, turned out to be Steve Scott
Sprintgeezer was/is the poster I have always trusted the most in terms of track knowledge on Letsrun. He just knows more than most of us. Reminds me of my high school coach who was a 200m/400m guy who won A LOT of track meets because he was a historian of the sport and realized the secret to high school track was to have a big crop of 200-400-800m guys, some who regularly ran run 100-400m or hurdles and others who could do 400-1600m+ to win a lot of points and run a lot of fast relay teams. He was no nonsense and hated speculating on what if’s
And I appreciated his dismissal of us nervous distance runners trying to assess pro sprinter’s potential when most were talking out of their @ss

OTG is still here. Posts under a variety of unregistered handles.
Really! I had not seen anything noticeable in 20+ years. But maybe if you look at a certain style of posting and certain topics perhaps so! lol
kemibe seems to have gone off the grid completely after a rather strange blogging spree in 2023-24; convinced that the afore mentioned Bill Eamick was a kemibe puppet. Practically no one else writes like that.
