“Loosely” accusing not allowed… but if one cites suspicious progression, is that permitted?
I'm going to type in there. I'm pretty sure last year's women'ns winner was doping. Ruth Chepngetich.
15k update:
First 8 miles largely with a tailwind. Course heads back to the city from 8 miles through 14 so it may slow a bit. 42:41 at 15k (14:16 split) They’re on pace for a 2:00:03 marathon. Still five guys up front. 44:04 (2:03:55 pace) for Mantz group.
I would think it would be a bit concerning if it were the other way around? The Chicago marathon is a major “championship level” event that is much more in the public eye than Athlos.
UP TO 9,000.
I checked out the marathon handbook and citius live wwatch along. If you try to type in the citius chat, you get this warning:
Even just from a narrative perspective, it's very anti-climactic.
If Mantz breaks the AR it's a culmination of many following him for 5+ years and building towards this, going back to milestones such as going after the half record in his debut in 2020.
If Korir breaks it right after getting citizenship, it feels like more of an accounting change than anything else
If either one breaks the AR, it's because of super shoes. Neither one is on the level that Khannouchi was.

Yep, Mantz didn't compete in an era where everyone got away with steroids
