Arkansas shouldn't be able to rerun. USC also lost time and that botched anchor exchange due to officials error. It wouldn't be fair if Arkansas best their time in a rerun.
If they pull ahead in points, USC could get a rerun alone too.
Yeah, but they just ran. They would be dead tired at this point. Arkansas jogged theirs.
Is anyone else watching the race with closed captions on? I kept the TV running while I moved to looking at post-meet content on my computer and phone, and the video feed has been running a camera on various coaches, meet officials, and athletes. The captions are picking up bits of conversation that aren't at all audible through the TV sound, and it's pretty interesting. There's been a ton a vacillating and trying to hash out different scenarios. If you're interested enough to still be on this thread, you may want to put your captions on.
They can't let Arkansas run alone. They can't let a&m run again. They can't make Florida run again. Maybe they mKe Arkansas go head to head with usc but even the usc will complain.
Sorry to the Arkansas fans. They probably deserve a re-run, but allowing re-runs in this sport probably opens a pandora's box that could be even worse than not allowing them.

Sure they could let Arkansas run alone. They were robbed of a likely 2nd place team trophy and a possible 1st place team trophy because one of their main rivals who wasn't going to earn a trophy decided to knock them off the track. This is the exact reason that re-runs are a thing. This sets the precedent that you can take a team out when they are in their last chance to score and guarantee they can't get any points.
Meet us over. No re-run. Justice is served. No one feels bad for Arkansas.
That's what I was saying. Nobody outside Arkansas program is going to feel sorry for them. Thats why they sealed their own fate when certain events dont do their job in the team effort. Not a lot of committment by some athletes these days when it's gut check time. Fast points through recruiting doesnt always translate to a better result than slow cooked development. That's harder now than ever.
