88F in the forecast for 8/9. Not ideal for a fast time, obviously, but it makes it less likely she’ll be lapped. They’ll probably take it out slow, and she’ll be able to hang around. Some won’t be able to handle the heat and will drop back early.
Officially back from another spiteful ban. A true abomination to be deprived of posting the first day of T&F at the Paris Olympics. I will not say anymore as to offend those responsible for this egregious act of injustice.
Luckily, yesterday’s men’s 10000m gave track fans reason to celebrate. A great display of competition and a bronze medal for Grant and Team U.S.A. I’m confident Parker can place higher than Nico, although he did have a tremendous race.
Expect Great Things!!!
The men’s race was far competitive than women’s will be, so comparing Young and Valby’s places doesn’t mean much.
After witnessing the cathouse tactics by the Africans in the 5000-meter final, I am concerned if Valby and hang with the big girls. What training does Valby have in armbars?

Parker has a significant size advantage on most of them, and a bit of a mean streak. Good luck if they try.

Parker Valby has always demonstrated gratitude and paid respect to her competitors in her interviews. If she wants to compete with the very best in the world, her troubling foot issues need to be addressed, on the path to cleaning up her mechanics, and improving her speed. Possibly she can station in Europe for a spell to gain insight and tutelage from Femke Bol’s strength and conditioning team?

As discussed previously some things observed in PV’s mechanics are observed in Stewart McSweyn’s mechanics, as discussed here:

McSweyn’s stride is not only choppy and relatively short, but for this level of athlete, his stride is displaying some major asymmetry, which will most definitely cut into his running economy. (1) McSweyn’s right...
Now I know you people are getting all hyped up about the men's 1500 that is about to take place in just 40 minutes from now but let me remind you that the HIGHLIGHT of the meet will be when Parker Louise Valby AKA THE PEOPLE'S CHAMPION brings the fire to the forest and ignites nothing short of a moist miracle of mega-man magnitude.

After watching Fisher and Hocker....I can see that moist miracle on the horizon.
