Coach Lananna recruited one of my athletes a few years ago and this is what we took away from the experience.
1. We liked Trevor Dunbar, no coach Lananna
2. Coach Lananna told story after story that were just straight up unbelievable and disingenuous
3. Coach Lananna didn’t have a good connection with his athletes. Even though my athlete was a boy the girls team had nothing nice to say about the director
4. Coach Lananna promised a team cross country title in a few years. ( we felt he was deliberately telling us something we wanted to hear )
5. He spent most of the time showing my athlete a stadium he was going to rebuild and not enough about training.
The bottom line is we loved Dunbar but didn’t like Vin Lananna. We felt like he was dishonest.
It’s part of his pitch to tell everyone he will build a facility. He’s the ultimate snake car salesman.
Mixed metaphor. I love it. I use "rocket surgeon" all the time.
