He defended Beyer and Straub's coach when I reported he had been convicted of giving a child athlete illegal drugs.
When a young Ethiopian runner died mysteriously in hospital the day after the Swedish Eritrean European xcountry junior champ was busted for EPO - both having the same Jada Aden associated Spanish manager - Rekrunner denied we could speculate on doping being the cause of the former's death.
BTW, that thread was then deleted by the moderators, perhaps the most important doping thread ever posted here.

Here's an example of the type of post that unnecessarily increases the volume of threads with purely false allegations:
- I did not impersonate "Here's my take"
- I did not personally attack him in another thread
- I do not have "Epo nonsense"
I suppose I could always just let these posts go without responding, but it is nevertheless unnecessarily libelous, and happens quite frequently, apparently by those uninterested, or unable to participate, in genuine discussion. I have to question the motive, the intelligence, and/or the honesty of these types of posts.
If "try harder" didn't try so hard to invent and propogate these kinds of lies, I wouldn't have created this response, and this thread would be two posts (and counting) shorter.
The thread he refers to, "Another Kenyan busted" (link below) could be a good example of a thread that was "taken over" by unrelated EPO doping discussions, but I cannot accept the blame for responding to the provocation of others. It takes two to tango, and many seem to want to dance only with me.
Within the first two pages, it was Coevett -- the OP for that thread -- who first trolled me by name without prior provocation (and he did the same again in the Pierre-Ambrose Bosse thread), and then tried to derail his own thread three different times, making inaccurate statements about me.
It was in that thread Covett accused me (yet again) of "defending" the East German coach (Bernd Dießner), and then he wrote: "a 20 year old (sic) Eritrean (sic) athlete dropped dead the day before (sic) a 17 year old (sic) Eritrean 'Swede' was busted for EPO (sic) - both having the same dodgy Spanish manager" and later clarifying "Robert Fisk"(sic), mangling "Robel Fsiha's" name. It was so full of errors, I couldn't be sure what he was even talking about.

I denied personally attacking "Here's my take". (As did he. He also confirmed I am usually the target.) I did not broadly deny ever personally attacking anyone. In fact, I told Coevett that "I aspire not to call people names, but focus on their posts."
None of these extracted comments are examples targeted at "Here's my take"'s person, or posts.
The "Cold War" comment is not even a personal attack, but a commentary of the posts from an unnamed poster that often omits relevant and contradictory facts.
The remaining "dumb-downed", "ignorant", and "manchild" comments were indeed directed at someone who constantly personally attacks everyone, including me. Sometimes I sink to his level to return the favor, with a ratio of something like 50 to 1.

Much of the censorship is systematic based on how many times a post is reported.
Leftists tend to whine more and object to free speech so they report anything and everything they disagree with and the moderation appears biased as a result.
Systematic moderation is broken. If you don't have the time or the money to actually moderate it would be better to do nothing than do what you're currently doing.
Watching liberals agree with each others' identical opinions on every thread isn't interesting to anyone.
What are you doing about Bots? I see a LOT of varying political posts posted with running tags that are incoherent and clearly posted by either foreign trolls or bots.
Additonally, there are random nonsense posts that open up threads that are over a decade old to sell some stupid scam or drive traffic to shady links.
Also, how do specific people get away with using attacking a certain group of people pretty consistently and never face consequences. (ex. I fully support Palestinians right to self govern etc. but someone with a newname seems to be able to post constantly about a certain group he claims controls the media and never faces any consequence. There is a nuance where you you can support people without targeting others)

Can you pleeeeeaaaaassssseeeeeee actually enforce that posts are tagged to the correct forum? You can talk up that "running threads only" button all you want but as long as the crazy people here mark politics/vaccines/racism as running related, we're all stuck with it!
I've reported posts before for this reason, and even seen individual posts deleted, but the main thread is still marked high school running or whatever.
help make your forum usable for (almost) sane people!
We need to have it so wrong category is a reason a post is reported and then we just reclassify it. Now mods just think the post is reported because people think it should be deleted.
So you're completely terrible at the easiest aspect of moderation possible. Great. I'm glad we agree.
In terms of moderation on the boards we dealt with the same issues. Personal attacks are the biggest issue between posters. Some of the non-running threads (Israel/Gaza) got out of hand and we had people trying to abuse the report a post system, but nothing really out of the ordinary.
I feel pretty decent about the state of moderating as I heard indirectly from a very prominent runner who gets bashed on here who said we do a good job of cleaning up the attacks that cross a line and also heard from the parent of a very prominent high schooler who said the same thing. That doesn't mean moderation isn't the most frustrating thing we do at LetsRun but that's the nature of having an open forum on the internet. The good outweighs the bad in my book but I love forums. I think I'll start another thread on some of the top posts/threads of the month.
