A 70 old man sabotaging the career of a 19(?) year old girl is the saddest, more pathetic thing I’ve ever seen. Mia, Sean, and this UCLA team deserve a lot better.
Here is our article on the matter:

Initially, this thread was entitled "UCLA track coach, Sean Brosnan, Fired for NCAA violations" but we changed it as Brosnan told us he was simply not renewed for next year.

How?
Vin lananna initiated the investigation. That’s 100% true. Why couldn’t he just let her move on? Why did he have to be a Karen? He failed his investigation.

Coach with morals are you referring to Vin “Federal indictment” Lananna?
What federal indictment? The guy received a witness subpoena because he had to present to Lamine Diack in order to advance a bid for worlds - a bid that Stephanie Hightower and Max Siegel co-signed. USATF tried to make hay out of the subpoena because they abhor competence - “removed him”. Result: Vin took those mountebanks to CAS and smoked them - full vindication.
Trying to take down her entire program out of vengeance???? He’s an all too powerful man who is not used to not getting what he wants. Also clearly uses bully tactics. Horrible day for UCLA and these athletes. Don’t think people realize how detrimental this is to these ucla athletes, a coaching change days before season
Vin “Federal Indictment” Lannana is a cruel soul.
People love the drama of this all but forget that these are young peoples lives and running careers being thrown around and completely altered due to politics/egos/personal agendas
Exactly his intention. No one was fighting him or trying to harm him. No I’ll feelings he just brought the rage. Sad old soul.

Filing a complaint about a potential NCAA violation you are construing into trying to ruin an athlete’s life?
Imagine being so hateful that you try to tear a program and girl apart who simply wanted to go home.
Yes. Completely accurate. It was a failed investigation. He lost.

Yeah, Sean’s politics/ego and personal agenda.
Vinny went to sleep employed tonight. Sean did not.
Insecure old man whose glory days are behind him spending his days telling people to get off his lawn. Pathetic.
Let me know when you can point to Sean’s wrongdoing. He was wrongfully under investigation and wrongfully non-renewed. Where’s the just cause?? Where’s the wrongdoing??
Vinny’s great reward getting someone fired and impacting his former athletes that’s sounds like a W…..for him.
I don't know any particulars, of course, but assuming the reason he was let go (not renewed) was due to tampering and poaching athletes from other programs, then well frankly it was well deserved. No offense, but the guy was hired out of high school to be an assistant running coach. The guy has no college coaching experience. Even so, the guy immediately comes in and starts acting in a disreputable manner, stealing athletes from other programs and acting sleazy. And he did it to such an extent that multiple coaches at other programs were angry and complained. Sorry but that is not how a guy newly hired after being nothing more than a high school coach on a one year contract is supposed to comport himself. We are talking about distance running and not some high profile sport. The AD was right to ask who the hell does the guy think he is and to become suspicious of his character. He made his own bed.
Who of the women’s top 7 will stay?
This is much ado about NOTHING. Nobody has ever heard of this guy. The well known Sean Brosnan is the son of Pierce and once dated Ivanka Trump. Nobody has ever heard of this guy and this is a nothing burger.

i would not be surprised by this in the slightest. Years ago I wanted to run for Vin as I had several friends who were running for him. I had a transcript issue, one that Vin was (unfortunately) aware of. After taking care of it and cleaning it up to the point where I would be eligible, I let Vin know that I would be running for a rival school and wished him the best. He let me know that the moment I stepped into their uniform, he'd blow the whistle as fast as he could and use the old transcript as evidence (rather than, say, letting a kid have a chance at a free college education).
The way he said it, to my face, was one of the more repugnant conversations I've ever had with a human being. Combined with the way I've personally witnessed him treating his own athletes (like sh**) at stanford, this sort of behavior from Vin is zero surprise, and something I wish I could have warned SB about. A shame but I'm sure SB will land somewhere and will be just fine in life. Most importantly, he won't have to walk through life knowing he's a pompous piece of sh** (as Vin does/should).
Robert, I'm pretty sure I've told you this story before, but happy to tell you again sometime if you want me to give you a ring.
