Look at the BU meet 3 days ago. The record board were rewritten. The guys killed it in the 5000. The women killed it in the 3000. Tuohy killed it in the 5000. That is just her limit. No excuses. She just isn't as good as we all thought. No shame in that.
Dream on tho

Maybe she was sandbagging to give Valby hope. Then later turn it loose like last season.
bwahha tell me you also thought about this during the XC season???
coz pretty sure valby and everyone around her was confident coz of the times she was runnin all season vs KT's times... katelyn warned them at the press tho when she said she never really had to push herself all season

Nothing against Tuohy, it seems that a sub 15 will not easily happen for her. Her form is getting worse, cannot kick at the end when running a faster pace. Looking at her past 5000m races, she has only ran 15:10s for three outings.
Seems like a great example of how an extreme comment gets the most reaction on social media. Who goes around speculating on what someone elses ceiling is?
So why did she run so poorly at BU? I thought she had a tough season. I guess she is just slow on the track. Stick to XC.
yep shes slow on the track, valby is the fastest, valby would have lapped everyone in the 2k
no one is faster than valby, parker valby is closer to the world record than any other american
Got to get your Minimum Daily Requirement of Tuohy
Didn't you say she ran slow because she had a grueling season? Now you claim that she never ran hard. I guess her ceiling really is 15 minutes. When she came out of high school, I hoped that she would be a top American runner by now but she just isn't getting there.

yes youre right, valby is the best, shes in 14;40 shape and she beat katelyn 30 seconds .. ugh should give her the american record in the 5000m and 10000m now
So what was the reason that Tuohy didn't run 15:00? I thought you and Astro claimed that she ran so slow because she ran so hard this season and is now tired. But now you claim that she never really tried all season which means that she was the freshest person at BU. Sounds like you are saying that she i stuck at 15:30.

same for you, with rojo .. aint it?
You could be wrong or you could be right. I'll go with you're right.
Tuohy's 1500m time is more impressive than her 5000m time. She is 3 seconds away from qualifying in the 1500m at the World Championships but is 17 seconds away from qualifying in the 5000m. Tuohy looks to be running the wrong events, she is a middle distance talent being forced to run longer distances. Coach better fix it before its too late.
I'm assuming Tuohy trains specifically for longer distances like the 3000m, 5000m and 6k but less training on the 1500m, despite the lack of training on the 1500m distance, it is her stronger event, whether people like it or not.
How do you know how Tuohy is training? She rarely ran 800m and seems a long distance type, from her strong 5k at not even 16 yo and her strong XC performances throughout. It's true that her 4:06 is slightly stronger now but this does not mean that much and could change next season. Sure, it could turn out that she is best as a 1500/5000m runner but I expect her to turn out best in the 5k-roads.
The standards for worlds were also changed quite recently and made much harder in the longer distances, probably because the advantage of the supershoes led to better times in the 5k. Just recall that only 6 or 7 years ago the US record for women was at 14:44 and was lowered by more than 20 secs whereas the 1500m record was only slightly improved by Houlihan vs. Decker 3:57 of almost 40 years ago.
Oh enough. Complete drivel.
Anyway every top US pro has the same progression. They run in college, graduate, join a pro team, and suddenly run massive prs.
