i think that from this list only one school (Jesuit) has a sub 8:50 school record.

Kurtz - 18:02 3-mile
Keene - 18:56 3-mile
Badwal- 20:24 3-mile in 2020 but 20:59 3-mile in 202100 -
Why don’t we wait until the first meet of the season to see who are all the freshmen running for NP?

Brosnan would have left already if he could get a decent college gig. Crappy college coaches earn $100k per year yet he is stuck earning $10k as a HS coach.

West Ranch’s 5th man ran 18:38 (2.93 miles) at divisional XC.
Not the same level than NP.
On the flip side, Halvorson and Duenas will be on varsity team immediately.
Let’s see if the coach can bring these recruits to sub 9:00 or even sub 8:50.
Dickran and Halvorson are pretty evenly matched right now. It will be interesting to track their progress.

i've only coached one boy who broke 5 before high school, and yet i've been to nxn with individuals and teams as well as going to FL a handful of times, sometimes with multiple kids.
regardless, i still think he leaves when the Young twins graduate.

No idea.
I think the girls team actually needs help from the freshmen more than the boys team does.
The girls team is losing 3 scorers. And they placed 9th at nationals.
The 18:52 5K that Sophia Grant ran might be a good indicator that she would be able to make an immediate impact on the team.

To be sure, he's done a phenomenal job and this is not a knock against him. It's rare that we fully take advantage of opportunity that comes our way in life, but he certainly has done just that.
My thoughts Brosnan is still very young early 40's. He is arguably one of the best if not the best high school coach there has ever been. I think Brosnan may leave Newbury Park. He is married and I believe has a family to help support. I think a number of NCAA Division 1 XC and Track and Field Programs would love to have him. Considering a Head XC Coach at a weak NCAA Division 1 program probably brings in $50,000 a year, Brosnan is the one of the best I would be willing to be bet he would start at $90,000 minimum as a first year and once his formula kicks in and his team starts dominating he would rack in $250,000+ later on in his career he the type of coach that makes 7 figures. If he did take a college position next year if I was one of his high school runners no doubt I would go where he goes.

Cantu is in 8th grade now. Zasloff and Rhoe are not on the roster or at cool breeze.
Zasloff is 13 according to Instagram. So I’m assuming he’s in 8th grade then.

Their girls freshman team is actually really solid this year. Probably the best they ever had
