Except that it isnt.New zealand is far better than norway in sport.Dont kid yourself.and dont kid yourself into thinking norway is influential, and that other countries copy it.it isnt, and they dont.Norway excells at winter sports, and not much else. Also the fact that you think norwegian athletes dont dope because of their society is utter rubbish. The fact that they got 4 bronze medals at the 2016 olympics might give them a fresh reason to take drugs. Now do i believe the ingebritsens are dopers? absolutely. Do i care? no. Because everybody at their level takes drugs. Its not cheating if everybody else is doing it.
+1. You are right that’s New Zealand and Australia for that matter I think are better in sport overall compared with Norway which is very good in sport but biased towards winter sports with which few countries have either the finances or the geography to participate in. What do Norwegians produce in sports? Alpine skiers a few, cross country skiers - a plethora, and few other outstanding sportsman in few fields.
Norway also has an excellent women’s soccer team I believe top three or top five in the world. They also have a very good Norwegian female handball team.
However,, Australia New Zealand produce outstanding sportsman in many events, and especially Australia. You have to look at it on a per capita basis and of course Australia has more population but on a per capita basis they produce a lot of top-quality sports people not only in swimming, but also in rugby, cricket, athletics, and even sports such as cycling and basketball (a handful in NBA).
