A good example of another multi-dayer running on a low HR is Russ Cook. Day 24 averaged a 113. If Will C relaxes his hatred for WG and RB, it would be good to get an assessment on whether RC provides an example of low HR multi daying that WC said is non existent on all of Strava or is a faked run? I personally am on the fence with WG, I hope he’s doing it properly but as he makes his way across he’s becoming less and less humble which is a shame. RC on the other hand looks the real deal.
Interesting example! Have been following and Russ and his HR actually dropped significantly starting from (his) day 19, while maintaining a similar average pace as follows:
(Most days before 19 were averaging around/above 130bpm, other than a day he walked)
Day 19: 148bpm - 6:22/km
20: 132 - 6:25
21: 129 - 6:04
22: 122 - 6:18
23: 119 - 6:32
24: 113 - 6:28
25: 118 - 6:31
26: Walked, very short day, reported being significantly ill
27: Walked, shorter day, again reported being significantly ill
I think this significant drop in HR was actually illness/fatigue setting in. You simply don't get "fitter" that quickly over 7 days!
