My point is that contrary to what Trumpkins believe, he's not defending Trump. He's simply explaining what actions would constitute obstruction. He has not said Trump is not able to obstruct, only that certain actions that may look like obstruction would not technically be considered obstruction if exercised within his presidential powers.

As someone who served the US in Vietnam (an endeavor about which I am at best ambivalent), I can say that I have never been more troubled by the state of the US. Those who defend Trump have been deprived of a proper education, not only about history and a civil society, but about the nature of personal behavior. You may have disagreed with Obama's governance, but to call him a liar shows either a break with reality or outright calumny. But, to Trump and all who stand with him, I give you this--you have won the pathetic game that has become politics in America. It is a game of slander, rather than dialog, of lies, rather than an exchange of ideas. You have won that game and so goes the nation. The US that I thought I was going to war to defend in Southeast Asia is over for at least a generation. The nation you desire will be an ugly place, and this is the only reason I am pleased to say I did not procreate. God help the children who must find their way in this diminished place.

Very thoughtful post. I am a vet as well and though I must be much younger I am deeply troubled by the public's general perception of what is important and the role government should play in our lives. We have been blaming, dismissing and removing government from the equation when it is a critical tool for progress and getting this country back on track.

This is as good post. The children of wealthy people will be fine, but for those who are not, they will struggle to build wealth. I do have children, and I am glad that I have built up wealth to pass on to them. They will be able to make it with a good head start I will leave to them.

If you did not build enough wealth to be subject to the current estate tax, that means you have spend your money on booze, women or whatever instead of saving. It's not the government's job to save the children from their hedonistic parents.
