Looks like Herriman and AF faced off in a small race last Saturday after state. However, both teams were missing a top 5 runner. Also Steadman seems to have bounced back from state, finishing second only behind Simmons. Additionally, Chase Pack (AF’s #2 from state) didn’t seem too hot from the race (likely from sickness).
So many teams (including the northeast and Rocky last year) won’t travel outside of their region all season yet want to argue who’s better than who across the country. We can’t know until they race each other. Lots of respect for teams who traveled out of region to compete this year, including: vandergrift, who I think deserves the top 10 ranking you gave them (Woodbridge), Belen (to southern showcase and great American, although these didn’t have many out of region teams), herriman (Woodbridge and Bob firman), Southlake (Woodbridge), Jesuit Nola (southern showcase and Nike XC Town) to name a few.
I really wish that Rocky Mountain or Boise would go to Woodbridge. Both teams seem ready to go early in the year each year and I think that it would be interesting to see what each would do. Andrew Ringert of Eagle ran there, but his speed ratings this year show that they were definitely aiming at the end of the year. He ran 170 to open up, 179 at Woodbridge, 180 at Firman, 180 at Nike Portland, 182 at their state qualifying meet and 187 at state.
It would be really awesome to see the Boise and Timberline girls and CDA/Boise/Rocky boys go there next year.

Woodbridge is fun, good meet for team building. It's exciting to see the fastest guy on your team break 15 for the first time. Lots of people stay later to watch the sweepstakes race where the best can break 14
If those top 6 schools all average under 16 minutes on the Eagle Island Course can we just appreciate how good things have gotten....here are the top 6 schools from 2019 NXR NW
Plainfield South is not going to auto-qualify. Mullen might have a chance to qualify as an individual, but I can see Jesuit being a distant third or even fourth at NXR. They race just 5 days before at state and while they should win, their mid-pack will be pushed or they can lose.

- Crater - 15:35 average - 4th nxn
- Jesuit - 15:43 average - 2nd nxn
safe to say if any northwest team can average under 15:45, that is a top 5 team going into nxn.
I think this year is deeper. There are many regions that are the fastest they've ever been. It's going to take a lot more to be top 5 than in years past.

No. Expecting high school teams to spend hundreds of dollars and multiple days outside of school is unreasonable except in the case of schools designed specifically for athletics. If the east is willing to do that, send them here, but other than that, we can't expect schools to do this.
