Watching slow motion footage or still images of running form is useless.
You need to watch running form at full speed, or better yet - in person.
The brain will process a lot more subconsciously than you could ever hope to deliberately figure out. We are designed to learn from direct observation and exposure to fast runners will develop fast runners.

Doing really hard workouts in attempt to "build mental toughness" is moronic and counterproductive.
When you line up for the championship race, the guy who has only had to go to the well a few times over the course of the season is going to be able to dig deeper than the guy who has had to prove his toughness durning random repeat workouts all season long.

It's not that diet is overrated so much as that most people have really stupid ideas about what constitutes a good/bad diet. You seem to be implying that pizza is a "bad" food, but that it is okay to eat it occasionally anyway. I would argue, rather, that quality pizza is actually really good for you, and that the person who eats it occasionally could be eating a 'great' diet.
Along those lines, my unpopular opinion would be that fat is just fine to eat. Strange that this is still an unpopular opinion, since the "fat is evil" idea was not just debunked, but basically discovered to be downright fraudulent years ago (the government's low-fat recommendations were literally not based on one shred of actual science).
The metric system is one thing that hurts the popularity of T&F in the USA. The 1500 is an abortion of a distance.

Fat is good to eat as long as it's a GOOD type of fat. Saturated fat is prominent in pizza, which tends to mess up your cholesterol (contributing to heart disease) and is linked to insulin resistance (contributing to diabetes). A little of it isn't horrible, so it's best to keep saturated fat intake low and replace it with good fats. Good fats are unsaturated ones found in nuts, seed, avocados, etc. They ease inflammation and lower bad cholesterol. Unsaturated fats can and should be part of a healthy diet.
Also, there is one type of fat to avoid at all costs: trans fats.
