Va Tech runner xc runner David Eisenhauer arrested for kidnapping and murder of 13-year old girl

So I'm an old Wilde Lake xc guy; well old enough to have grey hair anyway. I'm far enough removed that I don't know any of the guys on the team but I loosely follow them through the Columbia Flier when I'm in town visiting my folks.

Here are my observations. First, I saw that video, and this guy was Patrick Bateman with slight differences. He sounded like he was reading off of a script. His words sound rehearsed; like he knew that he was going to be interviewed and had to get it JUST EXACTLY RIGHT. Is that a monster, a perfectionist or a guy with no self esteem? Any FBI profilers want to lend a hand here?

Second, I am extremely surprised IF none of his teammates or coach knew the kid had deep issues. Its just my experience, but when I ran xc our bond was as deep as blood. It didn't mean that we liked each other; often times our shared pursuit of the goal was the only string to tied us together. But the knots were strong. We knew all of each other's annoying traits; who talked too much, who complained, who was too full of himself(most of us). And we knew the good traits as well.

The River Hill kid seemed to understand what Eisenhaur was about when he mentioned how the guy stuck around to shake everyone's hand after a race. Tell me if you think I'm wrong, but that's such exaggerated sportsmanship. After we ran we wanted nothing to do with any other teams and we sure weren't standing around shaking every 19 minute cross country runner's hands. That's just weird...

So if a kid did this horrible, disgusting deed as a college frosh he probably had serious issues in high school. And who knows, maybe everybody at WL is clamming up about it due to guilt or "what if" syndrome. There's got to be alot of guilt going around at Trumpeter Road.

Either way, if he did what we all think he did, he's a disgusting piece of trash...

Well the police seemingly have solid evidence he was communicating with her online, so the drug bender theory is unlikely. The fact he was already communicating with a 13 year old child is damning to his character in itself. The most shocking thing about this situation is that when I think of a child predators, I certainty don't think of a successful 18 year old. What on earth was his motive?

So again this morning the story is on the front page of the Baltimore Sun.

The most interesting part of the article was this.

So if sex was indeed the motive, this is sickening. What would the motive of the other woman be though? This is starting to look very twisted.

This theory is admittedly pretty dumb but this whole situation is awful and bizarre that anything could have happened.

This poor little girl had a ton of medical issues -- every article I read highlights this. She must have been prescribed numerous medications.

I'm not inclined to believe sex was his motive. He was on a college campus, an athlete, and as an 18 year old it is shockingly easy to find people wanting to hook up online. Unless of course, this girl was not being truthful about her age and appearance? He gets enraged over this and kills this poor girl? I'm not sure why he would have the knife though and why the other VT student would be involved. As others have said, this is starting to seem much more sinister.

I suppose I'm assuming he's not a pedophile, which he very well could be. I just can't wrap my mind around that for someone his age.

I make my prison goals achievable or just out of bubba’s reach of what he considers achievable, This way bubba is constantly striving new ways to pound me. If bubba finally gets me I consider this something I like to record, or if bubba’s gang buddies get me I consider that like a double bonus something I use to set as a milestone goal. But this prison is not were I ultimately want to wind up. I just have this internal thing that says I want to be all over the news, there is no reason why I cannot surpass Jarred from Subway or any other twisted sicko. I will personally not stop until bubba reaches his peak performance which means he could climax anywhere especially all over my face. I am thinking that bubba is going to not only pound me super hard but also shank me, but now that he is in it I have realized that he just needed a girl friend and something to trade off to his buddies for prison store needs. I am reviving the spirit of myself that is saying there is no reason why I cant just do everyone to avoid being killed. I want to run around the prison yard, and I want to get as many days bubba free as I can. So I would like to be locked in solitary if they put me in protective custody, I also want to run from bubba at a prison that has a big recreational yard, and I want to be locked away at a prison that has a good protective custody unit that can ultimately lock me in a room for 23 hours a day.

Solitary random killers are one thing. That only takes one sick person. Two people makers it really hard to fathom.

Hard to believe she would take part in a murder just because it is something secretive and "special". One sick individual.

I'm not buying that CNN story. My take on this is that prosecutors have no idea why these 2 young adults did what they did. And that is usually the case when teens commit horrible crimes. It never makes sense and will never make sense. It could have been something done on a dare - where 2 bored teens concoct a devious plan to see if they can enact and get away with it. Maybe they were both part of some secret fraternity and committing this act was an initiation rite. And not to be unkind, but Eisenhaur if he was into underaged girls does not strike me as the type that would want to go with a special needs kid. Either way these types of crimes never make sense and no explanation offered will ever add up. Condolences to all impacted by this.

So you've got some virgin xc runner who is depressed that he stalled out at 9:25 and has no identity anymore. He went from being a state champ with an identity to the worse guy on the team in less than a year.

He delves into this kik app and finds someone to hook up with as we all know most college kids are incapable of a real emotion connection. He hooks up with her. That's a big crime considering she's 13.

He decides to whack her.

Why in God's name he decided to share this with another person at the school or why she'd agree to help is really the most mindboggling aspect of it. To be part of something exciting and secretive?? Maybe she was like in love with the dude like the crazy girl at UVA who made up the rape case.
