Antonio,
I understand you're a busy guy, and it can be tough to track down a single paper in a mountain of files. But whatever you read in that paper has led you to some erroneous conclusions. I gave you real data from (I think) eight runners who ran "decent" marathons this year (2:31 to 3:30ish). Their average heart rates varied all over the map (ie. not within a narrow band close to 164 bpm) which correlated quite well with their HRmax (87-90% of HRmax in all cases). You don't need to offer up the paper if you can't find it, but you could consider that data and respond. Maybe you'd like to reconsider your position that all marathon runners finish the race with an average HR close to 164 (or maybe you don't).
A "six pack" is a standard issue set of six bottles or cans of beer. I offered you two six packs - one if I was wrong about your athlete's HRmax, which I guessed from his HRmarathon, and another if you raced a marathon and your HRmarathon was NOT fairly high (I believe you said your HRmax was over 200, so your HRmarathon would be close to 180, not 164).
"VAAM" is, I believe, made from a hornet's ass or something. It was a popular topic of discussion here maybe a year and a half ago (around the time Hadd stopped posting here roughly) after some (Japanese?) lady won a major marathon and credited the win to hornet hormones (or whatever). The board couldn't collectively decide if taking VAAM was cheating or not. It hasn't had much buzz lately - maybe it was all to do about nothing.
Do you happen to have links to a couple of sites that would list road races in those parts? I wouldn't be ready for a marathon at that time (I'm in the middle of having some fun with indoor track), but something up to a half-marathon (or anything shorter, really) would be good, but preferably a little closer. That Lisbon HM might be just the ticket, unless my wife might have something to say about it. (I mean, hypothetically, my buddy might think about running it if he can talk his wife into it).
