It (a positive test, proof of doping) could certainly happen, but the comparison to Armstrong at this point isn't appropriate. Years before Landis spilled the beans on Lance, there was plenty of fire (Emma Roberts, Mike Anderson, etc.) surrounding Lance's doping. Unfortunately Lance controlled the message and most bought into his story. Even after USADA released their 'reasoned decision' there were many people on this forum defending Lance... witch hunt, never tested positive, etc.

In my opinion, every elite athlete is under suspicion, but I see the cases of Rupp and Armstrong as polar opposites. The vast majority have already convicted Rupp of doping whereas the vast majority supported Armstrong until the bitter end despite mountains of actual evidence in the latter case.

With exception to your first sentence, I agree with you completely. There is no large "drug scheme" going out at NOP as there was with the USPS team. Lance paid for a popped drug test and the cover-up; Galen isn't using drugs.

I take issue with the majority "convicting" Galen for something that isn't happening. There is no proof. With Lance, there was a lot of tangible evidence (reporters finding syringes, ex-riders commenting on drug use in deposition testimony, allegations arising during lawsuits, retroactive positives); with Galen, there is nothing. Not one iota of anything suggesting impropriety or the miscarriage of honesty.

So how is Armstrong using at below the detection and allowable limit different from Rupp using something new that hasn't been banned yet? The same thing will happen to Rupp, a future ban will be imposed retroactively, and new testing will be used to retest "what-were-once-clean" old samples. Rupp will fall for something he thinks is okay to do now.

Armstrong thought the same, and was proven wrong. You also need to remember that Armstrong went down due to accusations by his peers. Rupp's best safety net is not having peers--domestiques--like Armstrong had. Always limited the insiders to keep the secret as long as possible.

EPO was illegal when Lance was using it. Galen isn't using any PEDs. You are assuming he is using something illegal, when in fact he is not. Lance was taking EPO before reliable tests but it was still a banned substance.

Further, your claim that Galen "will fall for something" is pure baloney and implies you actually know him, his thought process, and his value set, which I highly doubt you do. You are making blanket assumptions about someone who, to you, is a stranger and passing them off as fact.

So, Rupp is using a lot of things that are not current illegal. Thank you for confirming that Rupp is indeed using something. That something will be banned once the secret is revealed. A retroactive ban for Rupp is necessary to prove to future potential cheaters to not be experimental lab rats.

I never said that. Thank you, again, for putting words in my mouth. I said Galen isn't using PEDs to once again put daylight between him and Lance Armstrong. He is not using anything other than what Alberto and Ricky Simms have said he is using and you have no reason to believe otherwise.

It is offensive to say that he should be retroactively banned for something that isn't happening, that you have no knowledge of, and is ridiculous to even believe.

As for the "future potential cheaters" and "lab rat" comments, congratulations on reaching the heights of epic stupidity. This can only be achieved when one makes up stuff because one has no actual knowledge of the issues and situation at bar, as is the case with you and your loony-toon speculations.
