there may be an answer to get a 200/100 speed for elite 800/40 guys, but probably only for them
now, in london, rudy ran that 1'40.9 after heats including a quick 1'44.35 semi
in a 1-off fully rested solo euro circuit run on a cooler day, i'm sure he couda gone ~ 1'40.6
his 400 i have no doubt was in 44-high shape, call it 44.70
from some tables i made, i get
1'40.60 = 43.30 = 19.40 = 9.70
44.70 = 20.10 = 10.05
the key is drop off in quality from 800 -> 100 for him & nearly all 800 guys not called caballo
use the drop-off in actual 400 ability v theoretical 400 equivalent of his 800 ability ->
(44.70/43.30)
apply to the theoretical 200 equivalent of his 400 of 20.10 ->
(44.70/43.30) * 20.10 ->
20.75
the theoretical equivalent of 20.75 is 10.375
apply (44.70/43.30) once more ->
10.71
bottm line, my prelim conclusion, assuming rudy has decent start is that he couda gone
10.7+ / 20.7+
