Rowan Seth Clev Whistleblower

It just isn't worth it to run for sketchy coaches/programs. Sucks for legit Rowan athletes/fans that now this is what they are associated with. The Rowan XC/track program will suffer in the future because of this negative coverage, as it should.

Mount Union has long been a sketchy D3 program and was pretty dominant a few years ago, but they had zero indoor national qualifiers last week...stuff catches up with you.

I don’t get it. If Hedengren ran for the Rowan’s mens teams she would be their best distance runner. What would be their motivation?

What amazes me are the folks defending Clevenger and Rowan on here.

They're responses are as asinine and childish as I imagine Clevenger, and those around him, and the Rowan coaches must be in real life.

It's amazing. I don't know these folks—never met them. But we often imagine what folks might be like in our heads based on things we see on TV, on the internet, etc. And, to be frank, often those imaginations miss the mark.

And I still haven't met them. Still don't know them. But, wow, their defenders are hitting that mark on what I imagined their attitudes and their level of maturity to be.

Still may be way off—maybe Clevenger is a well-reasoned, well-spoken lad who is getting a raw deal and being taken advantage of by greedy coaches. Somehow, though, I really doubt it.

Probably the saddest thing is it seems Clevenger, Rowan, and their supporters think this whole thing is something to be proud about. So pathetic. So sad. As we say in the south, bless their hearts.

Like a couple others have said, ignore this fruitcake. Let him stew in mommy’s basement. He already believes that the posters who notice his mental instability are actually one fiendish poster who posts at all hours like he does.

Wow. I knew Seth's defenders were down bad, but I didn't realize it was this bad.

This is what makes no sense to me. Again, I didn't know Rowan existed before this story came out so I don't know what their reputation is but I just can't believe they would jeopardize that to have Seth run for them. Even if the videos, ISU teammate statements, or other evidence didn't exist, it's still super sketchy that this guy runs his best race for Iowa State in the lead up to NCAAs, then never races the rest of the season, and now wants to come to your D3 school. I guess the hope is that either every other person in D3 or any potential Rowan athletes will similarly do 0 due diligence or that eventually this whole thing will blow over. It's especially crazy to me because, while I never ran D3, I know how passionate those guys are. Like you have a whole division of guys doing this purely for the love of the game and you expect to just rock up with this guy who is dominating out of nowhere and people to just say "wow, recruiting masterclass! Dimit saw what so many others missed! He's found a gem in Seth Clevenger!"

I believe he did, but is there any evidence? Athlete says he was given X, Seth says it was just sugar, case over?

Lmao if this is the same Pat defending Seth on every post on IG, we crossed paths years ago and he seemed nice. I have to say his character is pretty tainted in my view now.

Just acknowledge that your coaches and alma mater made a terrible decision bringing Seth in just to win a national title.

They are absolutely hoping it will all blow over. Too late now, suckas!

I also sort of think, ironically, that they didn't really want Seth to be as good as he is. If he transferred and was straight cheeks like Blaik, no one would have batted an eye.

What's really bizarre to me is that they are absolutely, 100% making it harder on themselves at every single step of this process. They don't realize, for whatever reason, that continually evading and misrepresenting and lobbing baseless defamation threats is only calcifying the push on the other side. It's a complete masterclass in how not to handle it from a PR perspective.

To any Rowan athletes reading this:

If Seth had not competed, you guys still would have been 3rd at indoor nationals! Please rejoice in this fact, and do take care of yourselves.

This is also sort of what I don't understand about guys like Rajahn Dixon carrying water for Seth in a bunch of IG replies. Seth being a cheater doesn't make Rajahn any less of a champion. Why are you meatriding the guy like this? For what?

When the team championship ultimately gets vacated, a lot of people like him are going to feel really foolish. And that's so unfortunate, because the adults in the room here (Dimit, Tucker) absolutely failed them and should have known better from Day 1.

Tbh I think the entire thing got the most eyes from the fact that it happened at Iowa State which were already on peoples ‘sus’ radar and then the squad wipe happened in the fall. That and SC being from New Jersey where I have learned that things spread stupid quick so even then it would’ve been known (¿)regardless(?). Unrelated note, imagine if the podium protest happened during XCs where they have 40 people on it

Just wondering, can Dimit even have a conversation with Sudbury about what happened without a FERPA release? How did this happen with St. Joes / St. Johns? (forget which one)
