What rubbish. 3:45.94 is almost 3:46, not 3:45. You don't realize time is still moving when it passes the second and while it is moving Hocker barely breaks 3:46. But to you Rudisha must be a "1:40 man". That'll be news to him.
3:45.xx is 3:45. If the time starts with 3:45, it's 3:45.
Rudisha said, "When I saw 1:40-something on the clock, it was a little bit of a surprise.”
Arop and his coach have an initiative they call Project 99, which is to be first to run under 1:40.
After you've crossed over the border into Queensland, are you "closer to New South Wales than Queensland" or are you in Queensland?
It isn't a 3:45, anymore than 9.9 for the 100m is 9 secs. And Rudisha isn't a "1:40" runner. His record is 1:40.91. Rounding the figure downwards doesn't make Hocker any faster than 3:45.94, which is closer to 3:46 than 3:45. So he isn't a "3:45" runner as the .94 is included in his time. His time is not an approximation - it is measured to the hundredths of a second.
December (also July, August...) 2025 is closer to 2026 for you then to 2025.
It's hurting to see your dumbness.
haha
By Armstronglivs "logic", New Year's Day should not be a holiday because it's not really the new year. It's closer to the old year.
When Latin American girls turn 15, Armstronglivs would say they shouldn't have a quinceañera birthday celebration because they're closer to 14 than 15.
No, I don't say any of that drivel. What I say is a fact that Hocker fans can't cope with, which is that his best mile time is barely under 3:46. A mere 6/100 of a sec. So still way behind Ingebrigtsen and of course El G and a few others.

What in your view is a 3:45 runner? Only someone who has run 3:45.00?

If Bannister had run 3:59.9, Moranstronglivs would claim he was a 4 minute miler.

3:27.65 converts to 3:44.26…
It doesn't mean he has run that time. So far he has only just dipped under 3:46 for the mile. He hasn't run 3:44.26. He may never.

You keep assuming your inability to understand an argument is the same for everyone. I would say Bannister is a 3:59.9 runner.

What in your view is a 3:45 runner? Only someone who has run 3:45.00?
Correct. Tenths and even hundredths of a second are important at that level. It's the same for sprint times. If hundreths didn't matter they wouldn't be included in the measure of the performance. So they matter.

So you're saying someone can only claim to be a 3:45 miler if they've run exactly 3:45.00, and even if Arop breaks 1:40, Project 99 is misnomer unless Arop runs 1:39.00. Absurd.
Hocker is a 3:45 guy and Olympic and World Champion. You're just a miserable hater and a troll.
I'm done reading your nonsense. You can keep coping and seething. Bye.

So a calendar year is how a runner's time is measured? That's a seriously slow runner.
I'm sure Rudisha would have loved to be a 1:40 runner but his best time was 1:40.91, so barely under 1:41. Like Hocker was barely under 3:46.
You are absolutely right, Dumb.
If you divide a group which consists of measurable elements into subgroups, then elements which belong to different subgroups in fact can be very close to each other.
Some people are bigger than 2 meters many others are not. A 2m00.1 guy is bigger, a 1m99.9 guy is not bigger. You got it absolutely right that they don't differ much in hight.
Geoffrey Kamworer (PB 12:59.98) is a sub 13 guy (which generally means has a sub 13 PB). Titus Mbishei is not a sub 13 guy (PB 13:00.04).
Cole Hocker so far is a sub 3:46 Miler who currently belongs to the 3:45 group.
You are dumb as someone can be - but: did you get it now?
Correct. Tenths and even hundredths of a second are important at that level. It's the same for sprint times. If hundreths didn't matter they wouldn't be included in the measure of the performance. So they matter.

Breaking 1:40 isn't the same as running "1:39". If athletes' times were only measured by the full second we wouldn't bother with tenths of a second and certainly not hundredths. But we do.
Therefore, someone who runs 3:44.99 is a 3:44 runner, but someone who runs 3:45.01 is a 3:46 runner.
No, not "therefore". They are each measured by the exact time they ran, down to the hundredth. That's what the record books say. They know better than you.
