Kessler pretty disappointing in that 1500. I generally liked his positioning, but when people started flying by him with 200 to go, he just mailed it in. He's an intriguing athlete, in that he has great speed, but seemingly doesn't deal with pace changes and disruptions in his rhythm very well. He races best when there's someone at the front turning it into a pure time trial (e.g. Jakob, Nuguse).
It was kind of startling how quickly he fell back. He was near the front and then within a few seconds he was way off the back. Looking at his splits, he ran a 14.9 and then a 16.3 over the final 200. Something's not right.

Most Americans now are off the sauce. The only protected one is Hocker. Let's hope AIU does their work!
Flotrack's Athlete's Lounge coverage of today's meet crushed. Immediate post-race interviews with Nuguse, Yavi, Patterson and great commentary from Centro and (briefly) Fisher.

Jakob would have won todays race easy peasy. This era has become far weaker without him.
Jakob beating Laros easy peasy is no longer a reality. He is able to currently carry Nuguse-level fitness with a Hocker-esque kick. He trains in the best 1500m group in the World and if 10 years in Tim is closing 1500s in 12.2, you can’t doubt Lewandowski’s acumen in making these guys unbeatable in the kick.
Positive how? Because she ran 2nd? She ran 11:08. This is not positive as she still has not broken 11 for the season and Worlds in 3 weeks away. This is a disaster. With those sort of times, she will not make it out of the semis at Worlds.
Sinclaire Johnson's fall eliminated her from the DL final. She had a good shot of making it but 0 points today ends her chances. Hiltz qualified.
Really tough break for Sinclaire - she hasn’t been the most consistent since turning pro, but after that AR in the mile last month she could’ve potentially been a dark horse medal threat at Worlds if everything went her way.
I'll have to watch it again, but it seemed like he was dropping his left arm a bit, I wonder if he pulled something. He dropped to almost last in less than 50 meters, so definitely something is up.
