I seriously don’t think people actually read the report. It clearly states that Brosnan didn’t have any impermissible contact pre portal contact with any student athletes. All he did was call someone who has a daughter at another school and whom Brosnan has been friends with for years. He followed every single demand the NCAA threw at him. His "no participation" was just him asking for the meta data they illegally took from his phone. He wasn’t playing some back-and-forth game to dodge the NCAA. This entire case is a joke—he didn’t tamper with sh!t. Like others have said, Brosnan basically has the NCAA by the balls now if he ever wants to sue them. The NCAA never ceases to amaze me with how pathetic and crooked they are.

No, they don’t read it. It’s always the same idiots posting over and over, too dumb to actually read anything before spewing their nonsense. It’s honestly comical that the NCAA finds no actual wrong doing but somehow say just phone call to a pre existing friend is a violation. This is so dumb you have to laugh
You know it's not very often that a tool of this magnitude actually gets caught and held accountable. Made my day. Never liked Brosnan the man always just seemed like a charlatan to me.

Yeah, he's got'em right where he wants them. Well played Sean!

Sure. They found no wrong doing. He was totally exonerated by the report but handed down punishments anyway. We all just read the report wrong. Makes sense.

His own lawyer said he only wanted the data for personal reasons.
"Brosnan’s refusal to interview was not justified by the enforcement staff’s denial of his request for access to metadata related to his phone imaging. Indeed, Brosnan’s counsel admitted at the infractions hearing that the two issues were unconnected. When the enforcement staff stated at the hearing that Brosnan requested access to the metadata in order to prepare for his interview, his counsel immediately corrected the record and stated that Brosnan wanted to see the metadata “strictly for his own personal reasons” and not to prepare for the interview. In other words, Brosnan was leveraging his cooperation with the infractions process to obtain information for his own personal use. This is antithetical to the duty to cooperate."

Explain the phone calls around the transfer portal entries. Explain why Brosnan approached the compliance officer about potential prospects’ parents talking to his wife about them transferring before the portal.
I seriously don’t think you actually read the report. Or at least didn’t read the parts inconvenient to Sean’s innocence re: NCAA tampering rules.

The NCAA has the burden of proof, but this was a NCAA clown court , not “real”so they do whatever they want. If actually read the document you see:
“Thus, even if Brosnan's communications with the two prospects' fathers did not touch on the possibility of their transfer to UCLA, simply maintaining those relationships provided an advantage that other compliant coaches and institutions did not possess”
Also Brosnan was friend with this person/ parent for years before UCLA
“Prospect 1's father reported that they would meet for dinner, surf, work on cars and go go-carting together. Their wives also became friends, and prospect 1's family hosted Brosnan and his wife for holiday dinners”
This whole thing feels like a joke to me. As a current NCAA coach, we all have pre-existing relationships, and you don't get violations for that or what Brosnan did. Honestly, Brosnan could take the NCAA for a boatload of money. It's 100% illegal to tell a coach who they can or can't associate with in their personal time. These are major antitrust issues, and I’m honestly shocked the NCAA is so dumb to even go down this path. The NCAA has 0 proof of anything and can’t have rules that override actual laws.

You avoided anything I asked or said. Because those facts are inconvenient.

I don’t think you fully understand the situation. The NCAA illegally imaged almost 8000 of Brosnan’s personal files and handed them over to UCLA and the NCAA itself. This was not standard practice and the NCAA had to retract this serious mistake, but the damage is already done since his personal info and data were exposed. Brosnan was just trying to find out who accessed his personal metadata. He has the legal right to know, but the NCAA has to play hardball and wait for a lawsuit because they F’s up! Please read the report before you comment, because if you did, you’d realize how badly the NCAA is screwed. This is a huge deal, and the NCAA is about to get f@cked. I agree that this is 100% a major lawsuit. I hope Brosnan takes them for a grip of $$$$$$$

You don’t obviously coach in the NCAA. The SA ask to be put in the portal and the schools have a certain number of days to list them in. You wouldn’t know exactly when you’re going to be out in the portal as a SA. What about the regular calls to his friend throughout the year and semester? I guess those don’t matter. At the end of the day, there is zero proof of tampering, and in a real court, the NCAA would get eaten alive. Not to mention what they are doing is illegal. Honestly, this is going to get juicy because this is by far Brosnan setting up a lawsuit. He has 15 days to appeal this to the NCAA sh!tshow, and I’d bet my life we see an appeal and then a big fat lawsuit. Whoever reported these bogus allegations against Brosnan might have just helped him become a millionaire.
It's pretty wild that the NCAA thinks it can dictate who you can be friends with. According to this case, they consider it a violation if a coach talks to a friend just because that friend has a kid at another school. It’s definitely not legal, and honestly, the NCAA has been losing almost every lawsuit over the past decade. I don’t see this one ending any differently.

Sean has squeezed every bit out of this case and lost. For entertainment sake, i hope he does try to sue them. However, he has enough legal irons in the fire with his lawsuit pending regarding his use of the book money. It’s public record, factual info that he’s being taken to court for using investment that was intended foe the book, to travel to a bunch of meets in Europe, including the Olympics. This guy is shady AF.
