Well, per my previous post, I had not yet read through the complete thread, but was wondering where you were, whether you were cowardly hiding away, taking your ‘L’ and moving on.
Now ‘doping’ does not necessarily mean going into a back-alley with a syringe. Nowadays, there are probably all kinds of stuff a doctor can and will prescribe (that can act as a PED) if an athlete is injured (e.g., blows out their knee👀, or is not feeling like their old self, etc.)
Most male to female points tables / equivalencies have this as a 13:07ish 5k. The top high school boys in the US are still 13:30s guys. Crazy to think of a US boy running sub 13:10 in HS
The updated World Athletics scoring table equates her time to a 13:11 for males. But if we look at proximity to the world record, Daniel Simmons' 13:25 high school record is slightly ahead. Compared to the men's world record, Simmons' HS record is 50.5 seconds slower, which is 6.3%. Compared to the women's world record, Hedengren's HS record is 57.72 slower, which is 6.4%. Those percentages are close enough that I think we can say they are on the same level.
A good point, but I don't think that tells the whole story. The top women are way, way ahead of everyone else, while the men's side is more crowded. Eleven other men are at or within 10 seconds of the 12:35 WR (6 under 12:40), while only 3 other women are within 10 seconds of 14:00 (nobody else under 14:05). Hedengren may be slightly farther from the WR, but she's closer to both the top 10 and the American record. Also #281 all-time vs. Simmons #1328. Just ridiculous, really. And of course they're both going to the same school.
This string of performances has been incredible to watch. But anyone else concerned that she is racing way too much for HS kid? Fall->winter->spring seemingly non-stop.
It reminds me a bit of Touhy & Abby Steiner when they each had an exceptional season with endless racing followed by injuries

Correct. We need to calm down about her being a world beater.
Wanted to compare Jane's PRs with some certified greats.
Paula Radcliffe (hypothetical Class of 1992) would have had PRs of 4:16 1500 (4:34 mile conversation) 8:51 3K (!!!!!!!!) (9:33 2 mile conversion) and a 16:16 5K.
It was hard to find Tirunesh Dibaba's times but she won the 2003 World Junior Championships running a 14:51 in the 5K. Had she been American one can surmise she would be Class of 2003.
In this era of super-shoes and Maurten bicarb gels, the track and road records being set today in middle and long distance running have nothing with the records set even a few years ago.
You keep saying you’re leaving and “done” with the sport and then you keep coming back here and with zero evidence claiming “you’re right.” 🤦♂️. Just do us all a favor, take the “L”, and leave like you’ve been telling us all you were going to do. Leave . . . your baseless opinions won’t be missed.

Gee rojo, on your next podcast will JK be in the background emulating injecting a syringe in his arm, like he did back when Valby broke that Texas cross-country course record?
I hope you mean it and are actually gone. Your obsession with KT is disturbing and if I was involved with the investigation of the person stalking her, I'd be looking in your direction. At this point, your primary existence seems to be tearing down every other athlete who surpasses her. For you to accuse Jane Hedengren of doping, someone who might be the cleanest athlete to ever run in the NCAA, you have to do more mental gymnastics than an economist in the current administration defending its tariff policy. So do us all a favor - get off this board and go find the mental health assistance you are so desperately in need of. Unfortunately, you're too addicted to the negative attention on this board to really quit, but we can always hope.
FYI Jane Hedengren ran 4:26 in the mile by herself; Mary Cain went 4:24 with competition. I think it’s safe to say Hedengren may be able to run 4:24 as well with competition. Maybe not sub-two in the 800m, but to say Cain is way better at the shorter stuff than Hedengren is ludicrous, especially by someone who claims he knows the sport and runs a running site
