Aftenposten would never delete an interview from 2022 (certainly not one with Jakob). So if you, contrary to every Norwegian Jakob fans found that interview and read it in 2022, you should easily also find it now (without any help from an editor), and give us the link. I really really wonder why you don’t…!
I never said they deleted it. I said it wasn’t available in their search database on their main site. I haven’t provided the link yet because the editor has not sent it to me yet.
Some strange coincidences here:
1. Jakob was followed closely by a lot of fans in 2022, including all his news paper interviews. If Jakob had claimed any of the times you mentioned this would have been so sensational that all the other Norwegian papers would have cited them. But you are the only one that has seen this claims it seems…
2. I have always found articles I have read earlier, or heard about from reliable sources, after some digging and thorough research. -Strange coincidence that this particular interview is nowhere to be found + no answers from the editor.
3. There is an interview with Jakob in 2022 about running the 800m event, in the newspaper VG (part of the same news concern as Aftenposten). But it’s somewhat strikingly that he in that interview stresses the opposite of your claims when it comes to the 800m. He says he’s pleased with his 1.47 low performance, but that he isn’t made for running only two laps (at least not early in the season). No mentioning of a 1.41 capability, or a 46 one. He makes a point out of himself needing three laps “as a warm up” before a finish… Well, you can claim that he hit a new and faster level later in that season, but the thing is that Jakob struggled even with fast times in the 1500m the whole 2022 season (didn’t break 3.29, contrary to every other adult season he has have). So it’s really strange that 1.41/ 46 would have come in that particular season, don’t you think..?

I am still waiting on the Aftenposten editor, but since you seem like you want something sooner than that, I took the liberty of messaging Jakob’s official X page. His X rep got back to me and said he spoke to Jakob and Jakob has confirmed that he indeed did run 46 in a time trial in 2022. He said Henrik filmed a video of the time trial and he has texted Henrik to see if he still has it so he can send it to me. I’ll keep you updated and as soon as I get the video of Jakob running 46 I will link it in this thread.
Just to clarify, I never said that Jakob ran 1:41. I said he claimed to Aftenposten that that is what he is capable of running but that he doesn’t have an interest in running an all out 800 again. The interview with Aftenposten was after the VG interview you cited.
I know that sometimes revelations of new information can be unsettling for the human mind. You weren’t ready to learn that Jakob and El G have run 46 in the 400 and that Cole ran a 22 sec 200 as a teenager. Your brain is telling you that this does not correspond to reality so the only way for you to react is with anxiety and lash out with anger.
You remind me of when I first learned Hegelian Philosophy from my German Metaphysics Professor. I was shocked by Hegel’s historical dialectics and his theories of Geist and Zeitgeist. It all seemed so new and confusing. But eventually I absorbed his philosophy into my worldview. You can achieve this too if you accept the fact that Jakob Ingebrigtsen has run a 46 sec 400 from a standing start.

No problem. You’ll have a lot of fun watching it. The race footage quality isn’t great because it’s at a small venue in Morocco, but you get to watch El G tear through two laps in 1:42. Have fun!
So I’ve been a defender of El Gs ability to run under 1.43 for decades because I have heard this from more than one pro of that era including guys who were training with the group in Ifrane. What I had always heard was that it was done in a controlled TT setup using the group of 4-5 essentially pro pacemakers that El G had at his disposal.
But you’re saying it wasn’t this and it was in a race and grainy footage exists of it? I mean people have been trying to validate this for decades now - you’re saying it’s on YouTube somewhere? Uhhh, as it’s your claim and you also claim to have seen this, I think you should be the one providing a link of this.
This. 😂
(I still can't find this effing thing.)

I have a feeling that this thread is about to become One Of The Most Epic In LR History.
yodeler is laughing in his mother's basement right now. imagine the number of middle age men he has scouring the internet for Jakob interviews that don't exist.

A quick update:
Jakob has reached out to me himself and has confirmed Henrik still has the video. It’s saved on his external hard drive at home. Henrik went on holiday to Balestrand with some friends for the weekend but will be back this afternoon. Henrik will send Jakob the video and Jakob will send it to me later. He has just a single recovery run session this morning and the afternoon free, so he said he’ll send me the video as soon as he receives it from Henrik.
The mods have decreed, in their infinite wisdom on such matters, that it isn't possible to say this thread is little more than a vehicle for mere fantasies about what Ingebrigtsen has done or is claimed he has done. Nothing said here substantiates that he has run 46 for the 400 in training - or anywhere - or that he is capable of 1:41/42 or anything like it when in over 3 years he hasn't run faster than 1:46-mid. He has remarkable endurance for a md runner but high-end speed isnt part of his tool-kit. He has nowhere near the speed that Coe had - who was a 21-high, 46, 1:41-high runner.
Your countryman and former elite 800m runner thinks Jakob could run 1:44.5
But of course you know better.
Jakob isn't going to run a full 2 seconds faster over the 800 than he has ever done. When it comes to top end speed he is quite possibly the slowest top 1500 runner in over 60 years.

So how does Hegel apply to Jakob running 46 from a standing start? I'm sure he could just as well argue Jakob is capable of 43. And be just as wrong.

I will be waiting for it - just like I will be waiting to see how tariffs are going to make Americans rich.
in over 3 years he hasn't run faster than 1:46-mid.
I saw that you have done the same nonsensical "reasoning" before: has run sub 13 just once in 3 years. But it would fill pages to explain it to you (and you probably still would fail to understand).
Just a small hint for you: his 800 PB IS 1:46.44 (1:46-mid for you). So, when do you think he last time has run faster than that?
