Guess that BTC training got Teare in pretty solid shape.
Gerry was wanting Teare to focus on the 5K as well, but had he stayed he never would have raced today. He is kind of big to be a true XC guy but a 10K on a track could be interesting.
Leah Stephens obviously wanted to run when she entered. I can’t see how the freshman doing so could have hurt her collegiate running, but would have instead been a positive.

Teare could work himself into 27-mid shape, imo. The Big Mazungo was a 3:48 miler who threw down a 27:34 in 2008. Also consider that Wildschutt, Kiptoo and Hicks finished 9+ sec ahead of Ahmed Muhumed at Austin Cross Champs (8k) two mos ago. Each of the three holds a 10000m pb btwn 27:20--27:40.
Olympic triathlon hope will race at Parliament Hill this weekend and says he's not ruled out racing at the World Cross despite prioritising his swim-bike-run ambitions
Very solid showing after some down years and some significant ups and downs. Hard to believe he’s only 26. Seems like he’s been around for ages. Happy for him today, especially in an Olympic year.
Hocker disappointed? Since when is Hocker a great 10k runner?
Hocker did win 2022 Club XC Nats 10k. Although, it was on a horse track due to bad weather in San Francisco so hardly a true test of his XC ability. There were some solid athletes in that field, so there was at least some precedent for a better performance today.
Almost word for word what I was going to write. Thanks.
Why did Christian Allen comeback to the ncaa to go to byu to run in events that would interfere with the ncaa schedule? I don’t think it’s wrong or anything. Just curious. If his goals are to continue road/trail racing then why not just do that? Eyestone must be supportive and cool about it? And is he gonna run the trials if he’s gonna go to xc worlds now?

Where is the scheduling conflict. XC Worlds falls between the Indoor and Outdoor seasons. And the collegiates would not need to change their regular training in order to get ready for XC.

What do you mean by "comeback to the ncaa"? I thought he was a pro trail runner last summer. He has NCAA eligibility remaining?

Christian Allen finished his eligibility with BYU and is now doing various races such as some pro trail ones in Europe, cim marathon, or today's race. To the best of my knowledge he still pretty often trains with the mantz, habs, rooks, young, wardy Provo group but has no eligibility remaining.

Graduated from Weber St in 2022. Maybe grad school 2023 at byu? He’s definitely a hometown homie. Grew up only about 30 miles from Provo.
